Thinking of trying hrt again but as tablets this time, any experience?

hi, im 42 and have been experiencing peri menopause symptoms for 3 years. i started taking oestogel at first, with ultrogestan and after about a month it started to work wonderfully! unfortunately my symptoms came back after 6 months and after a year i went off it deciding it was no longer working. However the past few months have been awful, pretty much unrelenting anxiety and low mood, nausea, insomnia and palpitations and occasional night sweats and hot / cold flushes, so im thinking about trying hrt again but as tablet form this time - femoston 1/10 in the hope it will work better - no idea why the gel stopped working but have heard that skin can become unresponsive ?? ) has anyone else experienced this and found the tablets to be better - really looking for some reassurance as desperate for some relief, thanks.

re your HRT I wonder before you gave up the oestrogel and utrogesyan did you try to increase the amount of oratrogel to make it work to make it more effective ?
the tablets you are on would take longer to work as its not directly to the skin

hi minnie, thanks so much for replying, the issue was that i was taking 4 pumps per day, which is the maximum, i think i probably went on the highest dose too soon so that my body got used to it, and when my own levels dropped again, i got symptoms again but couldnt increase, so i’m starting low on the tablets, took my first one this afternoon, ok so far so i had some blurred vision and palpitations earlier but ok now, so hoping they will work for me x

Hi Karen . did you go back to your Dr to have the dose increased ?

hi - i got a prescription for femeston 1/10 and so far its been fine, seems to suit me much more than patches and gel, ive also started on sertraline which is currently settling into my system so mood wise still up and down …

I would like to say have you tried Sage Tablets. I was having hot flushes and night sweats after taking theses for a few months I am amazed my hot flushes and night sweats have gone.
