This is becoming a joke.......

About 12 weeks ago had a panic attack complete with chest pain, went A&E had ECG, Blood taken, chest X-ray and all come back fine was told "ANXIETY" this is the first time in my life (im 28, almost 29) Since then have had lightheadiness, occasional headaches, fatigue, chest pains, left arm/shoulder pain which after using "Dr. Google" was told its heart attack symptons so have being to my doctor god knows how many times and had numerous blood tests, another ECG, kidney/bladder/prostate/testicle ultrasound which have all come back ok and again told its the dreaded "ANXIETY" and prescribed sertraline about a month ago. I didn't want to take them and tried kalms, bach natural remedies but still felt like it wasn't enough Dr put me on 2mg diazepam to take with sertraline and reassured me they weren't that bad. So about 2 weeks ago I started the sertraline and diazepam 1 daily (occasionally had a 2nd diazeoan) Have since bougt a blood pressure monitor and realised that is now high (160/100 for example) so been back to doctors who put me on BP med but within a day or 2 my heart rate was 120bpm. Dr has now took me off them and said he is prwtty sure it is anxiety related. Told me checking 5/6 times a day is ridicolous and if anything causes more anxiety and to not use my monitor until I see him next week which I have agreed just to prove a point to myself. I have still got samsung health and have seen my bpm have dropped back down but the light headeness, feeling like im going to faint etc, weird chest pain and everything else still there and is now annoying me. Does this sound like anxiety? Has anyone used accupuncture or hypnotherapy to treat their anxiety? Will this stop or get better?

Hi Tom,

Sounds like classic Anxiety to me (8 year sufferer)

Try watching some vids on You Tube by

I am finding his knowledge and advice very helpful at the moment. .

Good luck friend :folded_hands:

hi Tom,

your story sounds very similar to mine I’m 29 and from the UK. In June this year out of no where had a panic attack never had anxiety or any mental health problems before…
started getting weird symptoms headaches, dizziness, lightheaded etc etc
was also given sertaline took 1 had a bad reaction and never taking anything like that again! diazepam is great but they wont give you much.
best thing you can do is ride it out and find ways of dealing with it, I read alot of books on anxiety.
meditation is really good, I thought it was stupid and wouldn’t work but it really helps…

also ask for some beta blockers these will control your heart rate

how did you get a panic attack weed or something i never smoked in entire my life im 19 yrs old and mine from nowhere had 2 panic attacks i also never had anxiety problems or mental illness but now life is like hell to me

your story is very similar to mine. Is your lightheadedness constant or does is come and go? Ive been dealing with this since february of this year its been pretty rough. Same with me though ive had so many tests done nothing coming back wrong.

they also use beta blockers to treat panic attacks now a days.

I dont know what it was from. I smoked a lot of weed when I was younger, i dont know what trigger them just seem to happen.

all beta blockers do is reduce adrenalin in your system which regulates your heart rate. this would reduce the sensations in panic attacks but not the actual panic attack

Lightheadeness is pretty constant but if im doing something and dont pay attention it isn’t there until I Think “oh goodie im no longer light headed” then pow right in the kisser its back and i start thinking the worst

My heart rate is fine (other than when I took BP medication, my BP is now raised though supposedly due to “anxiety” I was given Atenolol beta blocker but being so young I don’t want to be on them and further more as they slow heart down and my heart rate is fine it seems more risky

I smoked alot of weed also in my younger days up until a few years ago, also when I was 15/16/17 drunk every Friday pretty much because it was cool (what a knob i was, we’re only young once i guess) and have smoked cigarettes since I was 14/15 until about 2 months ago when I have gone cold turkey.

Crazy dont do drugs, smoke or drink often… dont even drink caffeine (did have a phase on monster at the start of the year though) and my health feels like it has deteriated, If I didn’t have kids I probably would try mary jane again but instead im using garlic, magnesium and cod liver oil… how times have changed lol

this is happening to me i had chest pain got the all clear at hospital
now my brain feels like its bleeding

There is no easy solution, only thing that seems to help me is diazepam but doctors dont want to give them so end up feeling miserable and the worst all the time which is made worse because end up thinking “what’s going on with me” “am i going to make today” etc
