I have seen a ent specialist now twice can you ask for a second opinion, does anyone have any advice. Dont feel like I was listened to not given the opportunity to go through my concerns. While i fully accept that the consultant could be 100 % correct that rehabilitation is the only way to combat this. I feel that other issues such as chronic sinnus problem which I think may be hindering this have not been considered or treated. I am probably talking nonsense. I know these specialists must see this all the time but when I interupted the specialist with a question . He told me I was making him very angry. Bed side manner may be lacking but perhaps hes right. But i never really got to speak about any of my concerns fully at all. What does anyone else think is it worth trying to see someone else even if they probably tell me the same, i dont know just feel all at sea in every sense of the word. Would be grateful for anyone elses view on this. I fully appreciate that only people who have experienced this horrible condition can appreciate the anxiety and way it effects every aspect of life.Also has anyone any advice about what has helped them.

I also have my ENT appointment for the first time on the 15th if December and I'm so nervous
I would advise you go with a list of your concerns and try to get through them i wasnt able to but I am sure, some with have more reassuring bedside manner
I am going to the ent tomorrow for my dizziness and ear fullness and fluid in my ears! If I were you I would go to another ent but try to ask other people or look up the reviews on the doctor before choosing another one! I can't stand doctors with no bed side manner! Just because they make a ton of money does not give them the right to treat us wrong! I too have a lot of anxiety since all of this started! Makes me really shaky, head pressure with tingling! It's horrible!

feel unbalanced, a horrible drunk feeling all the time, like i am rolling on high waves on a boat, eye ache. ear ache which is on and off and I havent been able to think straight since it began, fuzzy headed.. i have always had bad sinnuses and these are terrible now. Bad head aches but im not sure how much this is caused by the stress of always tipping over and wobbling around
Absolutely you can ask for a second opinion, I have done it!, you go to your Gp and say you want one, if he asks why you just say you are not happy with the man you saw and outline the reasons.n in the meantime though I suggest you research your other hospitals in your area, ENT depts, look,for reviews. As the hospital you hve gone to will probably be w waste of your time. That is what I found, and asked to go to a different place.. And while you,re googling stuff, put in aA search for suggestions on the best way to get a secondopinion i case there are some good tips. I am sorry to say this is how things are now, but always remember, itmismtaxpayers money that pays these people and you arena taxpayer, so they are not doing you a favour by seeing you or by giving you a second opinion opportunity. Excuse errors but this website is terribly slow tonite.

Just out of interest was it easy for you to get the referal from your Gp I am not a very assertive person, i think this is something i should probably work at feel less assertive with this feeling at any rate if that makes any sense.

You re not alone. Most of specialists are in a hurry to reach a diagnosis and get on with the next patient . The vestibular appratus diseases can have varied symptoms hence the ENT or neurologists already know what you re through . As it is the disease causes a lot of anxiety and hence one can feel irritated at smallest of inconvenience. Believe me this happens to all of us . I went for a online specialists website health care magic . They listed to me patiently I uploaded my reports . The Dr confirmed the diagnosis. Do use such sites to ask all your queries which remain unanswered in Dr s office . All the best

when you say easy, I guess it not always easy. It depends on your gp, are they nice, do they listen, or otherwise? Because I had had 4 years of this and the last ENT Dr I saw (I.d seen two) said he couldn't do any more, I used that!! I also showed him a,print out of a hospital in London NHS, that deals specifically with this problem.

It s a website so it can be accessed from anywhere in the world . i must say that the Dr s are professionals. And you re not supposed to diagnose your self with help of virtual Dr s . I used the site to calm my nerves after the episode of vestibular neuritis. It worked for me
