Ok I have been out looking for a softer chair as the one I have seems to hurt my operated side now, the pain is unbearable in the new hip side, it's getting worse the more i move around, feels like the bone at the top of my leg is coming out of my bottom, this can't be normal after 7months, I'm thinking if this is how it's going to be I may as well not bother with the other one!! god this is a nightmare, sorry all, just needed to rant, hope you are all enjoying the sunshine. xx
Sounds like you at the least need to have an xray - are you able to book a direct appointment with the surgeon? They gave me a number to ring after the 6 week appointment if there were any problems rather than go to the doc.

i could well have missed earlier posts, but have you taken this up with any of your professional team?
Sorry to hear you're in such pain Lynne - I have a Celebrity electric Rise and recline chair and it's very soft while being supportive. They're a bit expensive but worth every penny. If you go for a rise and recline if any sort remember to ask to be vat exempt - it counts as medical equipment and if you have any long term medical condition you don't have to pay vat.
Hi Lynne
i also purchased a rise and recline chair from an online auction site, it was £350 with the VAT exemption.
i agree with the others, a trip back to your surgeon sounds the best option.
Good luck Paula
Hi Lynne
You go ahead and rant. Not a problem and don't be sorry about it.
As for your leg. If it is that bad I would go back to cxlinic and have it x rayed to make sure everything is ok.. you shouldn't let yourself suffer x
Hi All, thanks for your replies, firstly I have a rise and tilt recliner, up untill this new pain started it was fine, but now I feel the firmness of the seat is agravating my pain, I wanted a chair I could just kinda melt into, I found one , but I don't want to spend£800 without giving it some thought, as far as my surgeon, well the last time I saw him was when I had my last op. they did say call the ward when I went home if there was anything bothering me, but that was 7 months ago, so here I am waiting for my 2nd op. appt. which will be sometime between now and the 24th july, I will call the surgeon on monday, as he will not be there at the weekend, I was gonna drive over but after today I can't , I just feel so crippled
Oh Lynne - I am so sorry that you are in so much pain .... can you go to the Urgent Care (not sure what it is called in the UK) and have it checked? that is horrible to go in to another night and day .... just come back here and rant - Sorry that i can't do more for you ----
big hug -
Lynne
Honest don't wait go to A & E if you must. But you can't go all weekend with no help. Please go to A & E it could be serious. I am really sorry you are going through this. I know what it is like to be in pain and it really does take it's toll. Hugs I hope you will listen and go to A & E
Lynne have you got an a&e near you???? if you have don't you think you ought to go? I don't know much about it but it sounds to me as if you have dis-located your hip, you neeed to get help. There will probably be one of his team on duty anyway, and all consultants are on call out for an emergency. Please try Love Gill xxxx
found on the net - Symptoms of hip replacement dislocation may include a popping or snapping sound at the moment of dislocation. Also common is pain in the hip, buttock, and upper leg. It may be difficult or impossible to put pressure on the affected leg. Further, the affected leg may appear to be twisted outward, or may seem to be shorter or longer than the other leg.
It usually happens before 6months when the muscles keeping the hip in place are not strong.
there are loads of sites if you are worried it may be that - inability to walk seems common
Hi Lynne...I also think you should call for an ambulance noone should be in pain like that, it sounds to me like a big internal infection has come about somehow, of course we all here hope that that is not the case, but besides that... you could have dislocated the new Hip, or some screws on the Hub itself, the bracket that the hip joint sits in, could have come loose, and needs to be looked at, but I am no doctor just asked him if it is like a ball joint in a car, and the surgeon said, yes, it is just like that...Hope it all goes well sooner rather than later.
Dont forget to let us know what is going on as soon as you can.
Concerned for your welfare...and mine if this happens to me also....Ian.
