I was having some stomach pains and was referred to GI consultant. Endoscopy came back clear, ultrasound was clear and am now waiting for colonoscopy. Wouldn't say I've had an major changes in bowel habits although have been on iron tablets since April so that has had some impact I think. My problem is vomiting. Since July I have been having regular vomiting episodes. I often know when it is going to start because I will often feel a bit constipated on the day prior to being sick. The vomiting usually occurs at night along with painful stomach cramps and gurgling in my lower abdomen. This can last anything from 12 to 36 hours. Once the vomiting has stopped I am often left with stomach pains in the upper abdomen that come and go. After a day or so I may have one episode of diarrhoea and then the pains go too. Does anyone experience anything similar? It doesn't sound like IBS to me, not when I compare my symptoms to those in here. Thanks.
IBS can have very variable symptoms; everyone's IBS is different. Wait to see what your colonoscopy says. If it is clear, it could still be IBS. Have you had a celiac, h pylori and fecal calprotectin test? Has your doctor/consultant suggested what it might be?
I have IBS and get stomach pain that moves about, nausea, and bowel habit changes but no vomiting.
Try keeping a food diary to check for food intolerances.
Hi
Yes there are many many people with your symptoms of vomiting along with tummy cramps etc remember all your colon stomach are connected so yes
After you get your colonoscopy hopefully that will put your mind at rest
Best regards
Kevin
I used to get sickness in the morning and normally following an attack though not always some days I would wake up, start coughing thinking it was a morning cough and then feel it change to the pre sickness feeling followed by sickness. This happen every few days but after many diet changes this is less frequent now.
IBS have many different sysmptons, learn what works for you the best. See what the test come back as.
