Thank you. Can you tell me what some do's and dont's are for us who are new and perhaps slow learners. I'm talking about the use of this conversation system or what ever the technical termsares to describe manoevering around this conversation .Is this called a something or other "list"? For example I assume that out of courtesy I should DO the following: 1. correct my typing mistakes 2. avoid any intrusive questions, 3. avoid giving out unnecessary possibly damaging details about exact locations --like where I live or something. If you have the time, you could tell me what "cookies" are and the significance of having cookies is.. .Also you could tell me what "bix" is or what Laura or Lors meant by " the red body icon" Now there may be some place --such as something called "help" or something where I could click on to have all this stuff explained. Now that I have typed this , I don't know what to do to "send" it or "submit " it . I notice sometimes I get a repetitive shing --over and oever --of a green light. Is that a good sign? Can you tell I'm an OLD person?
I wanted to reply to you, the Emis Moderator, for several reasons, all or most of them probably having to do with mmy trying to understand "the system." I am usually just HOPING to stumble on helpful emails from the forums group of people. I have posted maybe 8 or so postings and someof them may not have been "proper" . I say this because one of my postings--something like "Should I spen d money on a ramp?" got maybe 10 to 15 responses, responses which I was able to access, read- .But the manner in which I have been trying to find posts from myself and from others is trial and error --hunt and peck--For example the two ways I attempt to get access to posts are: 1. fo to my maill that says "paitent" and scroll down to where it says "XXXhas porvided a new post on hip replacement" and then scroll some more down to the place where it says somwthing like "read the post" And the SECOND way I try to get in is to , once in the taptient site, click on "forums " and add hip replacement " and maybe another key word such as "anterior" As you see , my topic or maybe the word is "thread" is always something related to "hp replacement --other key words being anterior , precautions, pain, et cetera). Is there another way I should be interacting with this system? Is this called a "list serve?"
It could depend on if you are using a computer, or a phone to access the website .... I am on a laptop, and get a 'Notifications' link on the right side underneath my name and the "My Groups & My Discussions" buttons. I then scroll down to the "See all discussions", then right-click and open in a new tab to see the ones I want.

HI Emis,
Could you help me please?
I wish to search a specific subject ie “Dual Mobility hip replacement”
When I type this in the search it shows a list of posts but I cannot open up the specific post to read it.
It only lists all of the posts under Hip replacement, some 250 pages worth!
Thanks
