Thr

I had a THR done in April 2014, Dont know if anyone have the same problem as me, Sometime when am walking my replacement hip Click.

When sitting down to get up i have to stand for a few second before i can start walking.

Hmm not really long after your THR so things will be settling for sometime yet. The click, yes I have experienced it and also the boing and a snap where the two parts misalign and return to each other. It doesnt happen often, and as your muscles repair hopefully they will help control the implant.

Its too early to worry just move sensibly. The standing up for a few seconds - is it due to pain or balance? both can still be expected at this stage.

My the was on 4/10 and I have the exact same problems. My clicking happens more when I'm doing exercises but the getting up thing happens every time I've been sitting for more than about 15 minutes.

I know it's all part of the healing process for me so I'm trying to be patient and I'm always aware of how I move around so I don't jeopardize anything.

Also, don't hesitate to ask when things don't feel quite right. This is an amazing group of people and I often think it should be called "What The Doctors Don't Tell You".

Hang in there!

Hi Carmen

I had my 2nd one done Jan 2014

When I'm sitting....certain ways I move that leg I get CLUNK rather than a click LOL

I asked the consultant at the last appointment....he checked the X Ray.....asked if it hurt...No.....well its OK then...so that was his opinion

Eileen

Carmen, do you have a ceramic hip replacement?

Thanks byteme, I've being so worried that things might have gone wrong.

Standing up is due to pain around the hip, when i started to walk it gets a bit better.

Thanks cindy. i feel so much better knowing it's not just me going through these things.

I had my opp on the same day as you 10/4/14.

Yes you are right about calling this sight "What The Doctors Don't Tell You" I've learned a lot since i've being on tthis ight.

Oh my Clunk sound really bad hope it dosent hurt,

Mines just click i use to get that clicking before i had the opp.

Keep us posted.

Hi Juliette.

To be honest i never did ask what kind of replacemet i had, but i will do when i next speak to the doctor.

Hi Carmen

The Clunk doesnt hurt......The fact that the consultant checked the X Ray and everything was OK and it doesnt hurt....he said ignore it.

I think its just the way my knees crack and there are nothing wrong with them  LOL

Love

Eileen

I also had mine done in april, and although my hip doesn't click, it does feel a little strange when i am walking. I am also stiff when i have been sitting or lying down. It takes a few mins to get moving. I think its because we are still early in our recovery.
