Thr

June of 2017 I had a THR. The reason for having it was pain in my leg got so bad I couldn’t step up my steps or walk without a cane. I was 71 at that time. The surgery went well and the initial pain was gone. Since then though I can’t lift my leg up without help. The pain is bad in my leg when I try. Also feels like the muscle is not there to lift it. Is that something that will eventually go away. It’s been over a year and a half.

Sorry. You may have iliopsoas tendinitis. This may be caused by the cup being too big, causing impingement of the psoas tendon. You should see someone who gas treated this before. You may benefit from imaging, tendon lengthening, tendon cutting, steroid injection, or if the cup is too big, cup replacement.

hi katheryn.. no that shouldn’t be happening.. before it gets worse i would do two things..see a physiotherapist for targeted physio..to strengthen your muscles, and not compensate by walking badly..and get back to your consultant and dont be fobbed off with guesses ..get a diagnosis
