Thr

I just got the staples removed from the incision from my hip surgery. Sometimes I get a stinging sensation and the incision still feels sore is that normal or have anyone else experienced that?

hi. it’s all very normal with any wound. dont forget theyve cut thro skin which contains nerves ,fat and muscle maybe been cut or just stretched depends on OP to get to your bone / hip.
it all settles / should settle in time.
best wishes

Oh yeah, completely normal! I had intermittent stinging for about a month (or 2), and it felt like I had a hunk of meat on the side of my leg. I am very happy to tell you that it all passes with time.

thank you all so much

How long were you all in pain. Do you have days where it hurts and days that it don’t and what did you do about it

I didn’t have staples just stitches on left hip. Some slight weird feeling inside of muscle rubbing on bones which I never had before but this is my first THR so it’s all new. Mine was done Sept 18 th of this year and I still don’t bump into that hip. One word to the wise which I did not listen. Don’t try to shovel snow. I tried to help neighbor last week and it stresses my other arthritic hip(right). I’m a bit smarter now. Hey 2 months ago today! Just be careful!!

I had thr done in june . I didnt have staples but my incision still gets sore every now and then but otherwise leading a very active life play basketball 2 days a week and on my feet for 45 hrs a week at work. best decision I ever made

there are days were I forgot I even had it done. but there have been a few days were its sore but 5 months out definitely more good days than bad
