Many thanks to all those who replied to my post, it's so comforting to know we are not without friends who will listen. I know we are all different but it helps to know others are experiencing the same pains and discomfort at the same stage as me. I must learn to be more patient !!!!
My hubby and I end up snapping at each other because every night I wake up about 2.30am and then end up waking him up, also can't sleep anywhere else as we dont have a spare bedroom, he suffers with restless leg syndrome because of his disability
Its not easy and I went through the same at 12whs, today 15wks I suddenly feel a different person. When I do my exercises I hold my affected hip/leg aloft and count to 5 (as in seconds) , not nice at first but, for me, much better movement. Keep at it and it will get better, I was very down a few days ago but our wonderful community helped me to work through it. Keep posting and stay strong. Dot x
Ten week post op now and if it were not for the other hip which is failing fast I would be in pretty good shape. Still have some stiffness and soreness in operated hip but a huge improvement from before. Can hardly wait to get the other one done. Tried to drive yesterday but found that I am just not ready yet. Will try again next week. Thankfully I do not have to drive unless I want to. I wonder if the strange feeling of a foreign object in leg will ever go away.
So Dot you are telling us it takes 15 weeks for the pain to stop?
Oh my God I was hoping 8 I am in as much pain as the day I left the hospital.
And Marilyn my husband and I moved out of our bedroom too. I too would wake up screaming from pain from moving, and he could not get sleep. I just stayed in our spare bedroom now. It's a lot easier for us both this way.
