Three weeks in

I've been reading some posts and I can't believe how far some of us

have come in such a short time. I thought I was doing really well

until this morning when I woke up I could barely walk. My hip was

agony, and my thigh muscle felt completely dead again. I've not had

any post op physo prescribed, I've been doing all my excersises I can't

understand where I've gone wrong. My hip has eased off somewhat

but my leg is still numb. Any advice will be very greatfully accepted.

Big healing hugs to all xx

Kim

Hi Kim sorry your having a bad day. I think like so many on this forum have said your body is telling you to rest.

Today my body is telling me the same .....I suppose the good days now after a hip replacement are so good we

forget where we were and what we have had done.

Chill and hang on in there today and tomorrow you will feel better.

Chill .Julie x

Hi Kim sorry you're having a rough day ,but you'll properly have many more little love, have you

been over doing it we all do.

I'm 8weeks post lhr and still have bad days do to much one day and have to rest the next day.

Your only 3 weeks post remember what we have been though.

I've been to G P this morn as rocks in my bum/

thigh area also scar area still tender and was told your not going to get over this in 6/8 weeks you

know ,well yes I do see that he printed me

exercises to do from internet as I can't get physio

in U.K not unless I pay,but said I was doing pretty good.So thinking of you and be brave. Lots of hugs xxx

Hi Julie

Thanks for your kind words it's just frustrating feeling worse today

than I did the day after the op, I really am a rubbish patient.

Look after yourself hun xx

Kim

Lots of hugs back at you Anna,

I'll have to look on the internet for the excersises. My

bum/rear thigh are fine it's the front of my thigh that's

the problem.

You are having one of those 'backward step' days that us old hippies are familiar with.  Things will improve, but you must expect these little upsets from time to time.

Best wishes

Graham - 🚀💃

Hi Kim

Sorry you are feeling rough.  It seems as if it is one step forward and two steps back. Try to look on the bright side and think things will only get better. I'm 7 months post op now and still having difficulty walking you are only 3 weeks.  The same thing happened to me at about 3 weeks and I had my hip X-rayed and it was fine, I was told it was a severe muscle spam.

Hope everything goes well for you and keep in touch.

hi kim,

checking in with you ... I hope you are feeling better - As Graham and many of us here will tell you, welcome to the roller coaster ride  - around 3-5 weeks we feel so much better, subsequently will do more and then WHAM ! set back ...we hit a plateau, the wall, fall back, all that when it is really going, moving forward, just not as fast as we would like - but the, to challenge ourselves is good, right -

continue to be gentle with Kim -- give yourself a hug for doing such a great job !

big warm hug

Morning Renee

Today is a totally different day, no pain just stiffness, I slept

untill 9.30!!!!!! I feel back on track. I have been pushing myself too

hard I think. I'm a rubbish patient

This group rocks xx

Kim

Glad you are feeling better.  Don't overdo it, do your exercises and listen to your body.  We all have good and bad days.

Women apparently tend tend to overdo it and can't sleep whereas men are stiff and sleep well as they are not doing enough ( sorry men but this is what the hospital told me).

I love that expression Kim, this group sure does Rock.

I had a bad start to the week, but took an extra cushion to work with me and I'm back on track now.  so even after 10 months, it's still kicking me in the teeth when I do too much!
