I have just been to see consultant because I had a lump on the back of my tonguehe looked at it um and aad and then put camera down my throat and found something at the back of my nose!!! He is sending me for MRI and biopsy as a matter of urgency ! I am so frightened I really think its cancer !!!!

Hi there Annette, I too have to have the same done soon and also a Camera down the throat me also C.T. Scan of my thorax, pelvis and absomen! I do feeel so the same as you and I am so scared about cancer, as it is is my MOHs Family me am still with a gorgeous Hubby of 40 years.....yea. I was in Junior School when we Wed, (NOT)' but now a days the things they do to you are ruddy awful for us to go through but please let's together just hope that it is a warning or nothing like cancer! My Hub had his whole bowel removed nearly four years ago , but only because he was like you me nt to the Doc me for it checked out and within 3 weeks I walked into ward and did not recognize him, he still HAS CHECKS AND HE IS SO THE OPPOSIT OF ME, in other words I am pessimistic about "stuff that we all go through and my Babe is just the opposite" SO POSITIVE! Keep your chin up, yea I know everyone says the same to me, but keep thinking of what they can do NOW and 10 years ago . For a start my tsts woldhave costs a fortune elsewhere! Hub just listened to the advert, andthe very next day went to his Doc. It is very lucky, I reckon to live in the Country, that we have nothing to fork out for in £'s for thesecircumstances? Annette please keep in touch and PLEASE , says I, Who is scared to death of needles and as for swallowing a rubber tube with a camera on it.....yes oh so not gonna happen, without sedation, and as some people say it is awful I even want to forget having THAT test, but I shall take what I am given and then ask for double gain and if not possible then ..........come back grizzing to you and hope you are never and a good girl. Have you a partner , Hubby, or any children? It is a help. Although, saying all that my Hub has told me to be grateful that there a such test and years ago. Bla bla.ble. Lots of hugs to you sweetie. I am very breathless are you? Does your throat hurt, mine does not, it just sounds like I am on 60 fags a day , which I am not! I just want you to know that I am thinking of you. I am also waiting for an MRI after consultant found an 'abnormailty' in my throat recently. My GP had led me to believe that i would simply have a grommet fitted as my symptoms were mainly in my ear (blocked eustachian tube). I am also very scared but am trying to take comfort in the fact that many of these tests do not show cancer and that at least, a thorough investigation is now being done. Chin up, we can do this. i t seems like there are lots of lovely people out there to give support.
If any of you can shed any light on what may be wrong with me (blocked eustachian tube for years, intermittent coughing, post-nasal drip, soreness in neck which feels like a deep gland and more recently, a prickly feeling as if something is stuck in one side of my throat, I would be grateful. I have spent the last few years being told to self-manage this by inhaling Olbas Oil! Seems ridiculous now.....take care all xx
