Thrush symptoms like Uti

Hi

I am new to this forum . I hope someone can help me with my questions . 10 days ago I had a cyst and had to go on a course of antibiotics . Half way through them I started feeling sore around area where you urinate urethra I think it called. Then started need toilet constant and feeling just a pressure feeling like you do when you need to pee. It feels stingy also and kinda scratchy . Then day before yesterday started getting back pain and pelvic pain. I had no thick discharge at any time .

Had a follow appt with my Gp today . She tested my urine and it was clear and then did a pelvic examination . She said she could see thick white discharge higher up vagina and diagnosed thrush . Gave me a tablet to take orally. She also did a smear as I was due

Can thrush cause this needing to pee symptoms and pain in pelvic just right above Vulva and round your back ?

Over past few years I have had what I could swear were uti and then when tested it was clear and pharmacist always said thrush too. Seems strange as I just though thrush was itching in vulva area as I had that before . This feels more uti symptoms .

I worried it not thrush .

I am 45 by the way and until I had my children had urine infections about 4/5 times a year.

Any one can offer anything ?

Sorry Elliejane, like you the pain on urinating and back pain says uti to me. I have had a lot of thrush infection and have never had symptoms like that - always itching or soreness of the vulva.

Update

Just had my swab results and urine sample back so tested positive for thrush .

Gp said it often mimics a uti in some folk as it irritates the urethra .

Hoping it goes soon. Been slightly better today .
