thumb arthritis stem cell therapy

I don't know. I don't feel the need to spend the money to get an MRI to see what it looks like inside. My thumbs are pretty good but not perfect. I still have soreness if I do push ups or something else that puts a lot of stress on the joints. I don't have the throbbing I used to have even at rest. I try to remember to use more of my hand and not put too much weight on my thumbs when lifting or grasping. My left thumb gets a little sore when I play guitar but that could be my technique. I am working to improve that. The stem cells are not a miracle and all pain is not eliminated but they have helped and I don't feel that I have problems anymore doing daily things.

Hi Maria,

I don't know if there is a way to private message on this thread. I know I can't post my doctor or the regenerative network he is in. Do you know how we could connect without me posting my email on line? My stem cell count was so plentiful that my doctor had enough to do my wrist also. I had sprained it badly 20 years ago and it has never been right since. It took quite a few months but my wrist is really pretty good now. (It's been maybe two years since the treatment)  It feels more stable and only bothers me if I have too much weight or impact on it so I try not to abuse it.

The network I used takes marrow from several areas. That's the way to get the highest count because most of the stem cells are in the upper layers of the marrow. I had my facets done last year and six areas were used for the harvest. This may be be more recent research because I had the thumb injections with marrow from one area a few years back. He injected both thumbs and my wrist on one office visit. Or maybe that's because the joints were so small. I don't know. Some of my friends have had both knees done. Our doctor did them 8 weeks apart so that the stem cells could replenish to make sure the harvest was adequate. I only needed one harvest and had 6 facet joints done at once. Maybe the size of the joint is the determining factor. You can get a quote when you consult with the doctor.

Thanks for the reply. I noticed you also had the stem cells in your facet joints, I too have oa but in my neck. Did you get much relief from these injections? I'm 50 but was told I had the neck of an 80 year old according to xrays!

Mostly stem cell therapy is not covered by the insurance. Though I know one clinic in Tampa, Florida which are in-network with most major insurance carriers.

Here what they say:

"Our Doctors are in-network with most major insurance carriers including Medicare. It means that the doctors’ visits and prescriptions will be partially covered by health care, and the amount you are responsible for paying will be less than if you go to an out-of-network physician."

My friend's grandmother did stem cell injections there. She had a knee pain, not sure exactly what diagnosis she had. However, my friend told me that she feels much better now.

I am  65 with debilitating pain in my thumb joints. Very keen to avoid fusion surgery and investigate the option of stem cell therapy. In Australia it is still in early stages of using this treatment. Would you give me details of who and where in the states I could be assessed as to whether I could be a candidate for the procedure please.

I had it done on the two thumbs 1/2 years prior and in addition my wrist which I had sprained numerous prior years. I could do my wrist on the grounds that my foundational microorganism check was surprisingly high so there was additional and we would not like to squander them. I had arrange 4 joint pain which is progressed yet I am a great deal more youthful than you so that could make a difference...also relies upon your immature microorganism tally, general health, and whether you take any medicines which could upset the achievement. My specialist gave me a 2 out of 3 shot for inprovement as I am more than 50, had propelled joint inflammation , and thumbs require high quantities of cells (luckily I had those high numbers however you don't know until the point when the marrow is handled.) Pain from the strategy waited quite a while to the extent doing catches, zippers, and so on yet that is a piece of the outcome from a high cell count high count more agony yet better possibility for progress.

My mom has knee arthritis.

Her story began last year when she was in enormous knee pain. She was advised by 3 doctors to do the knee replacement, but I wanted to find an alternative.

So, I decided to find a way to avoid her surgery. Mom's condition was qualified as degenerative arthritis. So I ran into the forum (unfortunately I lost the link) where people were in the same situation as my mom was. One of the members told about the corticosteroids and hyaluronic acid injections into the joint. In addition to the knee brace and physical therapy it significantly reduced his knee pain and improved his life. So, I asked him about the clinic where he was treated. He pointed out ARO or Advanced Regenerative Orthopedics.

So far, my mom has had 3 shots and she says she already feels the results. We didn't get our hopes up for this treatment cuz I read that some people weren't helped, but, fortunately, this therapy is helping my mom, her body doesn't reject the cells. I think it is worth trying

Hello could you please email me the name of the company...i am very interested in the procedure....tswift30@comcast.net... Thank you in advance

It doesn't seem that there have been many posts here lately. I looked at this forum before having my stem cell treatment. I was hoping to get more responses than I've seen here. I'm a 60 year old active male. I had treatments 3 weeks ago in both thumbs. I first started feeling improvement after 2 weeks. I still have discomfort, but it seems to be improving. I mainly feel pressure more than pain. after having injections for several years, I was at a point where it was try the treatment or have surgery. I'm glad i made this choice. I will continue to update.
