Tiroides retirada el 16/12

I had my whole thyroid removed recently and am not feeling so great, I've always had low blood pressure but now it's severe. For the last few days my BP readings have been 65/50, 88/49, 86/49 right in that range accompanied with headaches, nausea, dizzynes, fatigue etc my Dr has told me there is no treatment for low BP but I've read on the internet to eat a lot of salt and drink plenty of water. I just want to be able to take care of my family my life has gone to crap. Any input to my situation would be greatly appreciated thanks

¡Buena suerte!

Yes I'm on levothyroxine and Calcium w/vitamin D they also removed all four of my parathyroids

Hi Dave, you are correct my thyroid was removed because I had over 25 nodules and a huge goiter which were causing breathing problems so it was all done so fast (within 3 days) i didn't have much time to investigate they test my blood levels all the time and have changed my dose 5 times in 3 months. I only weigh 95lbs and they said I should gain some weight after removing the thyroid but no such luck. I don't think my current Dr is as knowledgeable on this as some other Drs are but I'm not sure what kind of Dr I need? Thank you for reading and your replies I'm not very educated on the subject

Tina, yo sugeriría un endocrinólogo.

Hello Tina. Just read your post and as with other replies I would suggest that your Gp refers you urgently to see a hormone Specialist.. Endocrinologist!  Salt will definitely increase your blood pressure and I reccommend you taking SEA SAlt as opposed to rock salt as advised by my gp for my low blood pressure. Wishing you all the very best   Angela
