Hi all I had appendix surgery 4 weeks ago today they took appendix and a ovary cyst as well as fluid of my bowel I was doing well after surgery 4 about 5 days but caught infection and was rushed in my marker was 50 it's supposed to be under 10 lots of antibiotics and anti sickness came home couple of days later but felt so unwell I've finished whole course and marker is 12 still slightly high but nothing to stress over here's where I'm struggling my wounds look nice I have minimal pain but I wake up every morning shaky and dizzy I'm off food dropped a stone in weight and have muscle cramping pain in the ribs and nausea brain fog and numbness in face that comes and goes I'm fatigued all day an simple tasks leave me exhausted my eyes are watery my head sore not unbearable pain jus a soreness I don't feel like I'm healing small noises or things sets my heart pumping and overall I'm miserable really down I feel like I'm not getting better like something is really wrong an my face keeps burning but my feet are ice cold I don't remember the surgery recovery from my thyroid removal an this is my second op I was wondering if anyone had any advice my doctor wouldn't check my thyroid because I had it checked in jan but my chemist said I should have it checked
Feel free to call me crazy or say it's in my head cause that's how I feel right now lol
Thank you in advance
Thyroid removed sept 09 ( cancer ) 175 mg levothyroxine per day
I'm allowed to eat anything I like but the nausea is horrendous and having silent reflux is a nightmare leaves me little to eat
Yes I think I need a second opinion it seems my thyroid should have been checked after surgery I'm researching a lot now I wish I had before ignorance is not bliss
I think that it's a accumulation of things the infection the thrush that comes with antibiotic use
I've introduced some foods it's a balance thing I guess I did some research an surgery can affect the thyroid levels and b12 intake so I'm hoping to introduce more b12 through foods and get the thyroid re tested now that it's been 2 weeks since I have been out of hospital
