tight muscles

hi i have fibro waiting for blood tests to see if anything esle is going on

as iv been feeling much worse recently .

along with pain and fatigue its the tightness in my muscles driving me mad and restricting my movements esp my thigh muscles there so tight i cant cross my legs anymore even crossing my ankles is really tight .

and if i ever end up on my knees the agoney you wouldnt believe i cant move let alone get up . is there any way i can stretch them make them more flexable with out hurting myself

Good afternoon Tis, I just wondered if you have tried Gabapentin which is considered to be an effective treatment for Fibro?

Hi Tiswas I can completely sympathise with what you are going through right now as pain in all my muscles and spine together with the fatigue has had me almost housebound the past year. I take pregabalin which is a similar drug to gabapentin but I find it takes the edge of my nerve pain but not muscle tightness - but we all differ and I know you prefer natural products. Have you tried the Actipatch? It does help take the edge off the pain. Also it may be worth having you having a blood test to check your hormones for any thyroid problems and also b12 at bit d as since I have started on levothyroxine it has relieved many of my symptoms, not got rid of them but I can wake up now and walk a bit now. Just had my yearly mammogram 5 mins ago and all I can say is OUCH!! Wishing you better and sending you gentle hugs x

Hi Tiswas

Poor you. My ankles and thighs hurt too but I just thought it was all part of the Fibro. I understand how you feel but have no answers.  x

Hi Tis, I too can sympathise with your pain, I've has this dreaded fibro for years but the past few months have been the worse I've ever had in my life,

We are all aware that stress shock upset bereavement can make things worse,

Even though my mind is strong my body feels so weak almost failing me on a daily basis 😞 but sorry I have no answers for you either, I to like natural, but have taken everything on offer the past few months but like many others sometimes it takes the edge off but the pain never goes away,

Have you tried some healing? If nothing else it's very relaxing and soothing for the mind,

Gentle hugs and healing thoughts sent your way.

Hi Tis

Sounds very painful. I have constant pain in my hips, thighs and knees and its only eased with Oramorph. Sorry not much help to you..

i have acuputure but thats helping more with the anixety part of my condition .

its the tightness causing the pain  .and its my fault because after a bad fall i stopped going out for my daily walks, now everything is tight and its driving me mad .

i did have an amazing MCtimoney chiropracter some years ago which gave me such releif , i started going twice a week and got it down to once every 3months ,but since he retired i cant find anyone in his field in my area ,

it is such a shame because i really did get vast improvement in mobility and thus less pain . i would pay any price to have those excellant treatments again .its cruel that i know theres a treatment out there that gives a vast improvement to my life but theres no body doing it .

it is part of fibro but the less you use your muscles the tighter they get

i stoppedd taking my daily walk after a bad fall and now i am paying the price

i am waiting for results of blood tests got ot see doc tomorow after getting my form filled in at DAG so iv got a busy day .

iv had to book a very early accupunture treatment just to deal with the aniexty of going to both appointments ,

people think i am crazy but honest the thought of dealing with anything eles ontop of what i deal with daily is just to much with out the acupunture  i wouldnt make the appointment .

iv never seen actipatch .iv tried the belladonna pain plaster but it sticks so well its agoney trying to take it of .

Hi Tis I also forgot to mention I also have reflexology which seems to be helping me. I have had 11 sessions so it has taken some time.

mammograms give a lot of false positives

and if you notice that your bust increases with them imagine what its doing to pre cancerous cells . dont want to stress you but its worth a thought there are other less intrusive ways some thing called thermograms that pick up stuff via heat ..not sure were available ,but its worth looking into

i was great with reflex to but people will insisit on retireing and then no one replaces them .

not that keen on meds although looks like i will have to give into some thing .got docs tomorrow for results of blood tests because iv felt a lot worse for the last couple of yrs ,so see what if anything shows up .

and take it from there .

I do walk daily to and from work which is around 30 mins each way.

dont stop doing it ,thats all  i can say because i certainly have suffered more since giving it up .i used to do a bout 30mins each way daily and i felt the bennifit for it .

The actipatch is not a sticky pad. adhesivepainrelief

The new ActiPatch® Muscle & Joint Pain Relief can be used on multiple locations on your body using medical adhesives to reduce pain and inflammation. This product is great for your back, hips, neck, shoulders, and many other areas. Worth googling and you can order it on line.

The mammograms I have to have yearly as I have been diagnosed with carrying the BRCA1 gene :-(

I get very tight muscles and shocking soasms..I just take cramp eze...over the counter meds..but doubling up in magnesium seems to work great, so I cut them out 2 months ago..but that Colloidal Gold you recommended is just awesome..even for that... I used heaps of hot water bottles when I was bad...I really wondered what was happening to me when I  first started getting them years ago...my doc said excercising my muscles is the best, but he is aware I can't do too much, so in the swimming pool I go at least twice a week..just walking up and down the heated pool, all really helps....unless of course you want to go down that line of muscle relaxants...bad stuff..very addictive..judging from what you post you certainly don't want drugs..like me..do hooe you get some relief..it's really painful..gentle hugs from over the seas..be blessed..:-) xxx

I beleive this to be true, I used to walk miles then I had a bad flare up and was unable to for a while,

Then I found it very hard to start walking again I almost seized up,

But kept at it and started again it took a while and I was scared I'd not be able to walk far again, I now walk 30/40 minutes and then I'm knackered but will keep building up my muscles again, fibro will not keep me down 😃

I'm finding it hard to use my arms at the moment without pain, they feel so weak, and I can't peal a potato or veg without my hand swelling up and starting off my kneck pain,

As you know it's one thing after another,

But keep persevering little steps you'll get there,

Hugs 👼🏻

WE dont live near to a swimming pool hoping to move soon

so i can go at least once a week maybe to the over 50s

dont like being round lots of people splashing and jumping around

as i can t  swim very well . no i am not keen on meds so sensistive

i want to get back on my gold and minerals but want to find out first what blood tests say .see what the doc wants to put me on .i dont mind giving something a try as long as it dosent cause me more problems

iv got to go to get my pip form filled in soon iv had to squeese an accupunture treatment in to calm my aniexty but i am still near breaking point , its not the form filling so much as the journy to and getting there on time and being seen oon time all this causes such aniexty i am fine once i am there

wish me luck .i just wish it was over
