Ive just recently been diagnoiused with fibro and just started meds ( citilapram and tramadone ) a few days ago , since starting them ive had a tightness to my pain which is more annoying than painful , it also feels as if my face is swollen but it isn't , has anyone else got this from those meds or is it just another symptom of fibromyalgia, thanks
Not sure if it's a reaction to your meds. You will have to check with your doctor. I was diagnosed with grinding of the teeth and tmj. Apparently my pain was worse at night from fibro and while trying to sleep I would grind my teeth. Actually cause 12 of them to have fractures. After a lot of dental repair I was given a mouth guard to help stop the grinding. My jaw still clicks at times but I did stop cracking my teeth.
I def would check on side affects of meds before that gets worse feel better
I actually get a "popping" sound in my jaw I never understood until I read about TMD. I would definitely check with your doctor, some meds have similar side effects.
Yes Confused; I too suggest that you go back and ensure that the meds are not the cause of your symptoms. there are many other meds that can help, but if your prescribing doctor feels it could be the present meds, then ensure that the other alternatives are not of the same family of medications.
If your Tightness has progressed to "tightness of throat/shortness of breatht and palpitations: then go to an emergency department ASAP.....Bron

do you mean Tramadol? I cannot tolerate this medication it caused my angina to become quite serious and I had loads of other problems with it.
Get it checked out as soon as you can. x
Thanks everyone for your replys , contacted doctor today to ask advise if it was the tramadol that was giving me the tightness in my jaw and he said it would just be another symptom of the fibro
It can be but please also check with dentist to make sure that there aren't any other issues. Don't want you to go through what I did by waiting.
