Tingling - Any suggestions?

I have had Tingling in my right shoulder for the past 4 weeks. This is progressively spreading to my neck, back of my head and ear.

I had shingles, about a year ago, in the left side shoulder, neck and midriff. This resolved itself, with treatment, after many months.

Recently, I also had balance and vertigo issues, which the Dr has been treating as Menieres.

Has anyone any suggestions/recommendations for this condition.

Could the cause be Post herpetic Neuralgia?

Any advice would be appreciated.

hi pauline

cant really answer that one, but will say i have had shingles 4 times so far this year and twice in 5 weeks, mine had gone wild since having 3 slipped lumbar disks in back, and is always on my buttock.

infact it feels like its returning again and only just healed, with me the tingles are two days followed by red hot poker stabbing feeling then the blisters .

takes me 5 days from tingle to stabbing deep pain then appearance of early blisters, always two days of headaches before the tingles.

i am age 50 and also had a ten year peri and now post menopause which has also taken its toll on my body as didnt want HRT.

good luck pauline

Thanks Jay,

I did wonder about the shingles returning. I had the Vaccine last year and was assured I wouldn't get another attack, but the feeling is just the same as before, without the rash.

I also have depression, but this could be down to a number of things, medical and family related.

Hope you get your issues resolved, please keep in touch.

Thank you for your interest and prompt reply.

Hi pauline

Oh bless ya hun.

I take a very low dose anti depressant well, have for last few weeks, called escitalopram only 5mg i should take 10mg but tried half dose and stayed with it, mainly to relax body and severe hot flushes, seems to help abit - flushes i was having 20 plus a day now hardly any, nothing intense like before ..

feel like i am falling apart at the seams.. Had umpteen blood tests, and discovered i was vit D defficient too so that didnt help, so taking vit D supplements / magnesium to boost the D ( vit D also a hormone the body needs to function)

Take care hun

Keep in touch

Went through hot flushes etc, am now over it. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to take anti depressants as I am on barbiturates and warferin. The doctor said he would like to put me on Citalopram, but they would clash.

Thank you for your interest, best wishes
