Tingling / Prickling sensations on skin -- please help!

Hey everyone!

I'm currently in the middle of some stressful anxiety/hypochondria and physical symptoms. I'm able to wrap my head around most of the physical symptoms, but the most bothersome one is this tingling/ prickly sensation I've been getting on my skin. It's a very faint tingling, NOT like "pins and needles" limbs falling asleep (although that has been happening more frequently too). It almost feels like spiderwebs or I'm close to something with static electricity like certain plastics. When I'm more agitated, it becomes more of a prickly feeling.

On a good day, it is mostly just in my left arm, but recently has spread everywhere, commonly affecting my face, legs, other arm, and most recently/concerningly, my back.

Could this be just from anxiety / elevated stress? I'm extremely nervous about having a neurological disease like MS or Arachnoiditis.

I have tested negatively for Lyme and got cleared by a neurologist for my ALS worries, and "likely any other neurological condition", but these symptoms are PERSISTENT! It is very troubling. Does anybody have any insight?

Yes, many people with anxiety get that including myself. It is not a typical symptom of MS. We have tiny nerves all over our body.  Including directly underneath the skin. All anxiety begins in the brain and the brain is connected to all the nerves in your body.

when we are anxious, the nerves  can become irritated  and that's what you are feeling.

I know, it's kind of a light electric or like you said spiderweb feeling. I have had that on my leg , Face, (  I thought something was crawling on my face ) , scalp, behind and still get them occasionally. Yes they can intensify when you were more anxious.  Sometimes I can get like a buzzing in my foot and leg. I have had this sensation for many years and now I just don't pay attention to it.  The more you worry over sometimes the worst they're going to get because your brain will be more anxious. Just calmly acknowledge that you have it instead of trying to fight it off, and then just go about your day. Anxiety can produce hundreds of different symptoms so try not to worry too much. I'm sure you are young and very healthy you just need to learn how to manage the anxiety.

try listening to some great audio meditations for anxiety found on YouTube. They completely calm down my mind and body I do them a couple times a day. Just search for guided meditation for anxiety. They also have them for stress, depression, sleeping. The key is to calm down the brain.  Because the brain is  in charge of the nervous system. So that's why it's important to think positive thoughts .

What  The brain believes, the body will follow (symptoms)
