Tinnitus and headaches ??

my dad has had tinnitus fora while now and went to see a specialist whom said there was nothing that could be done, & it is an issue that must be lived with. Recently he has become increasingly anxious and is having constant headaches which isn't normal for him. I am just starting to research tinnitus but I just wanted some advice, are headaches related to Tinnitus?? Has anyone any advice for reliving the symptoms ?? He's very stubborn and won't go to the doctor. Thanks in advance.

He should really have an MRI to rule out any deeper medical issues.

Good luck.

Hi gbaz. I'm a 42 yr old male and have severe high pitch tinitus in my left ear, also have headachse every 2 weeks or so but they're more like bad dizzy spells. I went for an MRI via ENT and they found nothing. Not to sure what to do now, doctors don't seem to be that bothered if I'm honest so I'm not apart from it gets me down and I can't really think about much else at times :-( he's not alone. It can be a right pain at times!

Hi gbaz-90. Not 100% sure but dont think headaches go hand in hand as such. I have had Tinnitus now 24 / 7 / 365 days a year for the past six years, some days are better than others, but never the less its always there. I would be seeking better help for your dad if this is a constant head pain he is getting. As you have done your reserch on Tinnitus you will know there is no cure for it, and there does not seem to be anything on the horizon either. Regards Malk.

Just saw your post...I'm actually going to the doctor for the same thing tomorrow...in addition to the headaches though I have ear pain in my bad ear...it aches intermittently. I have Menieres as well and asked them if it was to be expected and they have said no. I already had an MRI a few months back and it showed nothing abnormal. Most of the time it is more towards the top of my head that will hurt and into my temples. Sometimes it's my forehead so part of me wonders if it could be sinusitis or something like that. I have always had bad allergies and I do have a deviated septum on that same side...that just dawned on me. Hope your dad is doing better or can find something out!

Tinnitus can give you headaches. It can be tiring and exhausting. You said he is becoming anxious? It can spike up his T and give him headaches. Anxiety and stress can make your tinnitus worse or louder. Calm. Most ents will say "live with it" because they do not know what to do. Ask for an head scan to rule out anything. Good luck
