Hi. Just joined. I'm 20 years old and have been getting ovarian cysts for the past 7 months. I have already had laproscopic surgery to get rid of one cyst. And now I have been getting new ones. I got the first surgery in Novemeber of last year and since then I have had a few on the same overy. I am going in for another sugery in the next month or so to remove the cyst and part of my overy. I have been in a lot of pain lately and just havent had any energy to do anything. I am tired all the time. It is starting to affect me at work. Is there anything I can do to somehow get energy and not be tired all the time?
Hi Laurel, sorry you are feeling so miserable. Are you sure it's the cysts that are making you tired or is it all the surgery (and recovery) that is tiring you? I've had cysts for years - no surgery 'cos they weren't bothering me. Now I am in meno they are shrinking on their own.
Is it just the one ovary? If so why don't they take the whole thing and have done with it?
Have you had your thyroid checked?
Hi.Thank you. Yeah I had sugery awhile ago and I have talked to my doctor and she said that it could be the cysts making me tired. And its just one overy. My doctor doesnt want to take out the whole thing. I am actually am going to have another sugery to remove part of my overy along with the cyst.
Hi Laurel,
Very sorry to hear that you feel so tired and keep getting these cysts. Since I have the same problem, my doctor suggested birth control pills, apparently they do bring a relief. Has your doctor talked to you about it?
Also, checking the CBC ( just to make sure you don't have anemia )TSH, T3 , T4 , Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 and even 8am cortisol may give you some leads on why you are so tired .
Good luck with your surgery and hope you feel better!
