I am a fit and reasonably healthy 60yr old woman, I have had sluggish adrenal/thyroid issues treated by a Naturopath. I have no zest for life, couldn't be bothered getting out of bed some mornings, but I do because I have to for family and part time work. I can get through my couple of days of work, about 7 hours each of the two days. I guess it's enthusiasm for life in general I have lost. Any ideas?
There could be a lot of reasons for lack of energy, from vitamins D deficiency to diet, exercise even seasonal changes. Please see your doc ask for blood tests that may help you get back to a better level of energy! Once the issue is diagnosed one way or another then you can adjust your lifestyle accordingly.
Its worth the effort to know what may help you get back on your feet!
Thanks for your reply. I am due for more blood tests/yearly check up soon, so hopefully that shed some light onto the Vit D, thryoid, iron studies etc. A starting point anyhow. If I was more motivated I would get back to the gym, I used to love going a few times a week for a work out on the various machines to help with weight bearing and strength, just to keep me in shape, it felt good knowing I was doing something good for myself. I know if I could just get that wheel going again, I would feel better. Just got to get started. Thanks for taking time to write back.
Good to know that you enjoy the gym. Is it possible to ask a friend to join you. That can usually be a source of encouragement just including a friend to join you.
Good your heading in for blood tests be sure to mention this to you physician!
Hope the winter is kind in your area!
