I will soon be 75 years of age.
Usually I am active and have had quite good energy levels, but until recently, no more. I feel very tired and weak. I do have a doctor's appointment in a few weeks and will mention it then. I have just had a fasting blood test and have not had the results yet.
I fall asleep sometimes in the mornings, which just isn't like me. What could it be causing these symptoms, or possibly as I am a fairly new drug for lowering blood pressure maybe it is that. It is Amlodopine and I have swollen feet at times which I do know is the main side effect of this drug. I would like to come off it and will discuss this with my G.P.
Angela, I do think you should go and see your GP sooner rather than later, it could be the Amlodipine. Do you have your blood pressure checked regularly?
Please ring the surgery on Monday & if you feel very unwell in the interim, go to A&E, or get a High Street Pharmacist to check your blood pressure for you.
Good luck.
O.K. thank you. I check my own blood pressure at home occasionally, but I should get it checked regularly at the surgery. When last taken at a Tesco diabetic test, it was 108/66
That is pretty low Angela. It is within 'normal' ranges but still pretty low & if your drug is making it lower, that could explain why you're feeling lethargic etc.. But you ought to get it checked at your surgery.
