It’s day 4 on Citalopram 20 and I know it’s early days but I am not sure whether it’s worth continuing this drug as it makes me so tired and sleepy. I am already on Mirtazapine and Mirt itself wasn’t making me so tired during the day. I take it every morning. I was told by my psychiatrist that it will help to activate me but so far it’s been horrendous feeling on top of feeling depressed. Please I need some reassurance that it will get better.
This is perfectly normal. It will take some time before side effects go away. It made me sleepy for the first two weeks. Gradually by 4 weeks I felt better and less tired. By 6/8 weeks much better. by 10-12 weeks normal. It sounds long but its worth it. Give yiur body time to ajust. It will get better.
