Tiredness

Does anyone feel tired all of the time'? Like even when you wake up you still feel like you haven't really slept at all? I have a 6 month old and a 2 year old so I do sleep light and get woken up sometimes. But in the morning my head just feels like I've been up all night. Anyone else?

yes very much so. The anxiety doesn't help as it is very exhausting, not letting your mind rest so it does tire you out

Hi Sarah, if you can catch a few naps in the day it will help and don't worry thinking I wont sleep tonight as that's the problem.

Try taking a sleep aid with valerian in it 15 mins before bed, helps me to get off and have decent sleep.

Once you ge t into a better sleeping pattern the tiredness will ease.

Years ago I went to my doctor because I felt tired all the time and life was an effort.  He diagnosed depression and I was so surprised.  I had no idea what was happening.  But yes tiredness was the first inkling that I had depression.

With two young children you need to feel on top of things, and I am so sorry about you feeling tired.  I am old now, because I have had depression for a very long time.  I get bouts of tiredness often, but of course I know it is the depression.  I sleep very badly, and so that does not help.  Mornings are always bad.  Always have been.

Are you on medication?  How long have you had depression?

I have a feeling I do suffer from depression, although it hasn't been diagnosed yet. Since having my first child 2 and a half years ago at the age of 18 I have had bouts of depression that come and go. Sometimes just relating to being stressed with the children, sometimes because of my relationship. I have taken the depression test online and it was 20 out of 27 I think so I know I must be depressed. I'm on no medication, I haven't been to the doctor about it even though I know I should.

I take valerian before bed hoping it will help.  sometimes it does.  I would love to go to bed at night and sleep until the morning.  How wonderful that would be.  How do we get into a sleeping pattern?  Last night I lay awake for about 3 hours and could not get to sleep.   Eventually I did have some rest, but still exhausted when I get up.

You arer so young and have a lot of responsibilities with two children.  No wonder you are tired.  Think about going to the doctor.  He will possibly suggest medication.  You may find you can cope, and it could be post natal depression.  Do you feel you need medication?
