Tiredness

Hi Everyone

I was diagnosed with PMR in March and started on Steriods

I have managed to reduce to 2.5 and although I have some pain and stiffness

it is bearable.

My problem is the tiredness I feel completely wiped out most of the time

does anyone else suffer this problem on such a low dose

Thanks

Shirley

I notice you are in Co Durham - you are in an area where the PMR&GCA North East Support operates.

If you visit www.pmr-gca-northeast.org.uk.

There is some helpful information on that site, the dates of the next support meetings and also on an article on fatigue.

If you were just diagnosed in March this year, that is a fast reduction down to 2.5mg. When you say 'bearable' on a scale of 1 to 10, whereabouts?

Hi Mrs K

Thank you for your reply,

I do intend to join the northeast group as it would be nice to chat to others with the same problem

As far as steriods go it is my own choice to be on such a low dose, my GP would like me to be higher, he knows how I feel about them and he did start me on the lowest dose he could which was 10

I just hate them I have had so many bad experiences

in the past due to MS but saying that I am my own worst enemy at times.

I still have stiffness on a morning and some pain but it is bearable. on a scale of 1-10 I would say 5 and I know I would be without pain if I just increase my dose. ( maybe I am just a foolish old woman )

It is the tiredness that get me.

I will check to see when the next meeting is in the northeast and will go along

would it be possible to pay my subscription there instead of posting it.

Thank you again

Yes, Shirley, we encourage people to come to the meeting first, before paying a subscription as you might not like it.

Look forward to meeting you on the 27th September. Cuppa will be supplied.

But remember this site is always here and questions that you never thought of are answered and we learn a lot about everything.
