Tiredness

Hi all, I’ve been on escitalopram 15mg for a year and a half and feel great, I sleep well at night but my question is does anyone feel tired during the day and some days I need a short nap!

Anyone else like this?

Hi Susan, I've been on i ve been on 10mg for a similar length of time for anxiety. I sleep 9- 10 hrs at night and often sleep 2 hrs during the day. I wasn't like this before I took escitalopram. Luckily I work part time and don't have kids, I'd hate to think how I'd cope with less sleep xx

Hi Susan,

I increased my dose to 15mg 3 days ago and have noticed increased anxiety, which I am hoping will subside within a few days.

Did you start out taking 15mg or did you gradually increase your dose to 15mg?

Hi Louise, thanks for replying and it helps to know it must be the meds making me sleep a lot! I wasn’t stressing about it, I just wondered if it was but my anxiety has virtually gone!

Take care and again thank you

Hi Lauri, I started on 5 then after 4 weeks I went to 10 and then another 4 weeks later went on 15mg. Every time I increased my anxiety was a little worse but it will definitely subside. 15mg seems to be the right dose for me and hope you settle soon 😊

I'm coming to about 2 years on e-pram as well and have cut down to 5mg for the last 2 months. Even on that amount, I take a nap almost every day. My doctor ha told me that it may have that effect. Hope the medication has worked well for you!

Hi AshyTea, yes the escitalopram works really well for me and it’s good to know it must be a side effect that don’t go away and I’m not the only one!

Thanks for replying and wish you all the best

Hi guys...I have been taking escitalopram for 5 weeks at a dose of 10mg. I have noticed that the thoughts and my anxiety have increased and 10 days ago I had a panic attack while I was driving. Since then I have a stress when I drive...anyway I still have to take a bit of benzo to feel better. Did anyone have so long period till feeling calm with escitalopram? I am feeling very worried if I take the right medicine. Thank you for your responses!
