Which studies prove (with certainty) that titanium alloy body implants are nontoxic? I'm seeking summaries and full text.
there are many studies …by joint replacement manufactures and surgeons to look up. there are some history of manufactures ie: Stryker and a few others having issues with chromium and cobalt fretting around the implant causing metal toxicity.
are you going to have surgery or did you have THR surgery?
in my experience one hip is over 20 years old and still Ok. the second hip was by a different manufacturer than the first hip done years earlier by manu DePuy , the second by Stryker had design and metal issues and the second hip was revised 5 yrs after primary surgery with ceramic implants. metal blood tests are helpful for many who have metal implants.
ask what implant manu the implants are from as well as the model, most hip components come with tags from the manu and are included in the OP records.
the recalls are announced and info given to surgeons, just look up the manu name/model it will be posted if recalled for various reasons.
