Why is my TKR still swollen and clanking clunking all over with upper thigh hurting and not being able to lay in bed flat more then 10 min with out hurting in my 13 week

in month 3 still having pain stiffness and sensitivity around scar ( bed sheet even hurts if rubbed against area) this is ridiculous never knew it’d be this painful this long also walking with a limp

I cant lay my leg flat for more then 10 min

It’s normal for knee to be swollen for up to 9 months. It is the just the knee swollen or the whole leg?

If you are still having trouble straightening (extending) your knee then yes it can hurt in bed. And the time frame doesn’t matter. I have had patients unable to extend knee even in their 2nd year.
What you need to achieve is the back of your knee to touch the bed. That would have been the first few exercises you were given when you got home from the hospital.

Exercise: extend your knee and push down into the bed (sofa) and hold for 30 seconds. Repeat 5 times, 3-5 times a day.

As your knee angle gets closer to 180 degrees, your knee would stop aching when you lie flat in bed. Try it, it works all the time.
