TKR 9 weeks post op

When I was at my worst I had to use the motorized shopping cart at the supermarket. Surprised they didn't make me show proof of liability insurance or asked me not to come back. Hard to call concentrate on driving and shopping when all you can think about is how bad your leg hurts

i looked at the terms and conditions for the motorised  ones.... apparently you have to sign a disclaimer...... !!... I'm still wary though.....

I think I'll just struggle ,...lol

Haha..... If we lived closer.... We could get a tandem one!!... imagine the carnage!!:O

Terrible twins ....lol

Which knee have you have done ?

Mine is my right ...if yours is the left ...we could tie them together and ru. The three legged race

thanks jean , work is hard and tough with lots of bending, twisting , lifting ,walking , but ive done it now no going back lol , pleased its all over now ,still get pain in the numb side but guess that will be the hardest ,it tingles as the nervers get back together . still think it was the right thing to do ,i can walk with others now instead of them waiting for me ,it was getting to the point when i woke up i wasnt too stiff and thats come back a little but im sure that will go again the doc thinks up to 8 weeks when people return to work so onwards and up wards , good luck your corner is near now

I'm just glad I don't have to go to work ....old age has it's compensations ...."I think"...

my goal is to be driving again ...I've been given the go ahead.  But I daren't try yet as the knee is really numb in places ..plus I don't feel confident yet

Just saw this.... hahaha..... It is my left !!!:-D

Lol ....what a thought

you will be just fine , the only thing i found hard was getting in with the right leg ,i had to put the seat right back then pull it forward , the driving was just as normal , the left leg was no problem at all , good luck x

Hi Debbie

I drove yesterday....and as you say ...seat pushed right back to swing my right leg into the car then obviously adjusted so I could drive

it was no problem and although I didn't drive far ...I was so proud ....another step forward

My car is an automatic ...but obviously living in the UK that's the leg I use for everything

imanaged fine and won't be afraid to drive again

jean x

And I woke up this morning and the numbness down my right thigh has disappeared all the feeling in it has come back

x

nice one jean ,well done , funny you should say about the numbness , my knee is still numb on the out sides of both knees ,but only the knee nothing else , wish it would go away x

I have just one patch on my knee that I can't feel....and ive been told that may always be numb

but if it is it's a small price to pay for my mobility back

x

sounds about the same and your right small price to pay . x

Hi Dave I am nine weeks post op and still experiencing horrendous pain at night. My consultant and physio both say I am doing great, movement is very good and I am pain free most of the day. I go to the gym three times a week and swimming and can honestly say I am glad I have had the knee replacement, until the night time comes !

I have tried liquid Morphine, sleeping tablets and nothing works, the pain can either be shin splints, in my thigh or knee itself, this also effects my husband as I keep him awake and he has to work next day.

Apparently this is normal so I keep telling myself things will get better, seems we have no choice but to grin and bear it.

Hi .I am at the end of my second month and  was progressing fairly well. Then about 6 days ago my physical therapist was manually flexing my knee. He does this when I first arrive for therapy. But this last time it felt like he pushed it harder then he ever did previously. It was definitely uncomfortable. Now it has been feeling like when I was about 2 weeks post up.  Now I'm having a lot more difficulty and pain with moving around in bed, getting up from a chair and walking, pretty much anything .  I am worried that there may be something wrong. I feel like I need pain meds again

. The pain is concentrated right below my knee cap. I have my second post op appt next Tuesday ..I am going to ask for a renewal on my hydrocodone. Wonder if he'll let me have it. I am so discouraged. The pain is now unrelenting, I'm afraid it will never go awy.  I was doing so well before too,  sigh 😢

I am 8 weeks 3 days in. My upper thigh is really sore and constant tingling around my knee. I am walking without assistance but when i go to store i use their electric wheelchair, too much walking for me. Did anyone else have the tingling? Dr ordered a topical cream. Has anyone used this cream?

Thank You So Much
