Hi all again
Have been doing okay and going for short walks, which are pain free but very stiff knee still although physio and surgeon happy with bend. Trouble is today my leg wasn't happy when out for daily walk, it was so so tight, more than usual, like a vice all around bottom area of knee and feeling like it was at its utmost stretch at both outside areas of knee(hope that makes sense).....can't understand why as haven't done anything different except tried to sleep on side....any suggestions x
I'm 4 weeks post op. I'm sure it will pass. Can't wait until I'm where you are
It hasn't been the best weeks of my life and everyone says it will get better but sometimes, on days like today I think it never will......just have to keep going don't we?
Yes we do. I've read some articles that make it seem like a cake walk. NOT! But I'm praying things will get better for us both. I just started walking with a cane. Slow and steady. Keep up your good work. You've come a long ways.
Sorry I don't remember where you are by t this time of year temperature and barometer changes can play beck with the swelling. We are about to enter a brief rainy period and my legs started acting up yesterday. I was on the bike and stretching this morning and finally had to hit the pain meds this p.m. finally have it under control but not sure for how long.
I think we all experienced this. . the good days, and the feeling that we are finally really getting over it. . and then the bad days suddenly, without warning, for no apparent reason. i hope tht is what has happened to you . .and it will spontaneously get better again . but if it doesn't, check it out with the doc. . .
Thanks good advice. Heard Bio Oil is good for tightness for knee and scar.
I am 4 weeks out on tkr. Surgeon says I am A plus. Bend was 115 last week. Yesterday I walked about a mile and was up and down the golf cart a lot Going to patio sales. Felt great yesterday afternoon but it really hurt trying to sleep and it was stiff and sore today. I did my exercises twice and walked about a half mile and tonight it feels pretty good. Getting other knee done in a week so this one needs to get better soon.
Good luck. Sounds like you're doing great!
You are one of the very few people who understand/admit that temperature and barometric pressure interferes with joints. Thank you
Could be the tendon in the front of your knee that needs stretching. Don't forget there is also scarring under the surface, this also needs stretching. Gentle bending, little and often is a way round this
I was wondering why I hurt so bad we are expecting heavy rains for the next few days. I didn't know it could affect my new knee I thought those days were over. Now let's convince the doctors although there have been some studies that agree. Thanks
Some doctors, consultants and mind doctors do
I had one dr. tell me they never were taught that in med school but he was quick to understand it when he got into p t ivate practice. Now he is a believer in weather affecting joints and broken bones. The rain started here overnight and things have started to calm down just a little. Will go through it again after the storm and we get the next system moving through. Where are you located. I'm in the middle of the US
I'm in the Midwest and this weekend snow! A double whammy.
I'm in the Kansas city metro area. Raining no e thru wednesday and 1st real freeze of the season. Snow a possibility but nothing major. You must be in the upper midwest
Should have said....1st freeze this weekend.
Chicago. I feel the ache as we speak. I have to laugh to keep going. Nice to know someone understands. I pray things get better for me
They will.....believe me they will. Its not like turning a corner and suddenly all is well. Its more like gradually going up a long ramp and then you realize you are at the top. I've had 11 surgeries and 30 rounds of radiation on this leg/knee and still fighting the fight. I started it at age 65 and now 78. To add to it I am pretty much the care giver for my wife who's health is declining from Parkinson's disease. Just take it a day at a time and don't get discouraged when you occassionally feel like you are taking a step backwards because that really does happen. Little things your Dr's don't tell you about.
Wow. You are a great inspiration to me. May God bless you and your wife. I don't feel so down now. Thanks
