Yesterday I tried to get out of a very low chair in the chemist which tipped. I wrenched my operated knee and the pain was horrific. It was only for a minute or so and then seemed to settle. The pain has gone but my knee seems to be more puffy than before. I am icing etc. hope this is enough. Anyone with ideas would be welcome
Elevate so you encourage blood flow which in turn helps swelling.
Hi Sue,
About 5 weeks after my patella realignment I absentmindedly took a stair down with my good leg and flexed the operated knee way past where it was ready to go. I had lovely black spots before my eyes and nearly collapsed from the pain, but it passed quickly. I put my heavy compression wrap back on, iced and elevated (which I was still doing anyway) and took anti-inflammatories and panadol for pain. It was ok again after about 2 days. Rest is your best friend at the moment; but keep an eye on the pain and swelling and go see your Dr if it doesnt return to the condition it was prior to twisting.
Good Luck!
Ouch, worst nightmare. I had both done at once & around 7 weeks was in the garden when I tripped & fell on my right knee. I was horrified, but fortunately it all was fine. Difficult getting back up though.
ouch,I guess rest and ice will be the thing to do , but if it does not settle quickly let the doctor have a look, far better to be safe, good luck
