Hi All - This maybe a long shot but worth a go. I have recently been diagnosed with TMJ and at work I sit under the Air con unit which cause's me quite a bit of pain in my left ear. it feels as though there is pressure build up and I feel sick , headache , nausea etc. I have asked work if I can move desks and the only desk I can move too sits under / in middle of 2 air con vents (surley this will make it worse). This is depressing me and I do not know what to do, I work in IT so I have to sit and look at a PC all day which doesnt help and I have to wear a headset (the sound is muffled due to my ear issue) and i have to stuff my ear with cotton wool to lessen the pain. What else could I use?
So a bit of history: Over 2 years ago I went to my GP about my left ear feeling as though it had a bubble in it (like when your on a plane) but it wouldnt pop. I try yawning, chewing gum, sweets, drops, nasal sprays, anti istermines etc I have seen a specialist and had MRI scans and bloods they origionaly thought I had chronic eustachian tube dysfunction now they say I have TMJ and sever allergies so I am on another nasal spray and antisitermines.
Please can any one at all suggest anything that could help relieve the pain whilst under the Aircon - I am considering sick leave and I cant afford to do that really.
