Today 6 week check up.

I just went for my 6 week check up, and was told I will be cleared for all sports and for work (yuck)  on 10/25. 10/25 will be exactly 12 weeks.

I guess, my job now will be to continue to do rehab/p/t.

My advice is to do as much rehab exercises as you possibly can.  It

will pay off in the long run.

Have a great day !!!

Hi Rich, that's great that you are recovering so well. Do you have quite a physical job? My op was six weeks ago today and my check up is on Monday. I'm hoping for another couple of weeks off work yet as I'd like to be a bit better before I go back but was told (pre op) that about 6 weeks would be enough. Now I'm at that point, and although I am vastly improved from straight after my op, I really don't feel up to working days, and all that sitting, yet.

I think ur lucky..... I just had 6 wk check up and was told I could go back to work and I have a strenuous job. Enjoy ur time off. I didn't think I would get so worn out by the end of the day because I've been walking 4 miles a day and doing exercises. But the energy I'm having to use to teach 5 ceramics & sculpture classes is way more tiring😴

Congrats for the all clear! May you continue to have good health!! LD. As soon as I'm off my restrictions of non weight bearing I plan to get these muscles moving!

Well done rich, I have a sitting down job, I too had the full 12 weeks off. My hip is 9 months old now, still have pain when walking up stairs, getting in car..but told everything is ok and some peopke are unfortunately left with some pain... but its not as bad as it was before my operation. Yes keep up with the exercises and lots of walking. Good luck. X

Yes that's right rich - carry on with the Excercises and do lots of walking etc and hopefully be ready for work week 12! I am recently back at work (am a nurse) and returned to it at 11 weeks and seem to be getting on OK. Hope your recovery continues to go well.

Super outcome Rich. Congratulations.

Enjoy the next few weeks and get as strong as you can.

Enjoy.

I deliver the mail.  Not much walking but a lot of bending and lifting.

My surgeon is very conservative.  I think, I would be 100% in  2-3 weeks, but obviously he knows more than me.

Thanks !!

Good Luck with your recovery !!

Thanks.  Hopefully, one day all the pain will be gone !!

My  first THR went the same way as this one, not sure why, but as I said in my original post, I rehab as hard as I can.

As a nurs you  must do a lot of WALKING.

I hate walking but I know have to do it and I will !

Have a great day !!

Thanks !!

I have not much to do but exercise !!

Hi Rich the hospital gave me a sick note or what ever its called now for 6 weeks when that was

about to run out I went to my GP who gave me another note for 7weeks I think that runs out the beginning of October.I'm a cleaner and are up and down approx 500 stairs carry heavy bags, hoovers

up and down if I don't feel strong enough when time arrives I shall ask for note again I'm not

undoing all the hard work I've been through,

I've worked all my life and never had time off

I'm going to look after me for a change and not worry about work . lots of hugs .😅

In my opinion, you are doing the right thing and not rushing back to work.

I could probably go back to work in 2-3 weeks but its not worth it, as you stated, I am not going to undo the hard work.

Good Luck with everything ! XO

Great progress!
