Today

Thought you would all like a laugh at what I did today.. We went for a walk to Sandringham, down to the bird hide took a few pics, Alan was still videoing, so clever clogs here decided to go for a walk on her own. Told Alan to stay where he was until I came back..... off I went, down the path ( my idea was to do a circle and end up back with him. Told him to stay there until I got back. Lovely walk in the woods not too hot, didn't bother following the signs decided to follow another route up a hill through some rhoderdendrons lifting branches and under some others, gettign denser and denser, then I found I couldn't go any further they were too thick (all this with just my walking stick) anyway after trying to push through I had to give in, and turn round and go back the way I'd come. No problem here just retraced my steps, oh dear came to the top of the hill(bank) I had climbed got a little way down and couldn't get any further, boughs on bushes not strong enough to hold on to, so dry it was like sand, stood for a few minutes , then stupidly (or not) shouted Alan who was in the bird hide. I knew he couldn't hear me (I was too far away) but lucky for me another group of people sticking to the right path, came to my rescue aand helped me down the hill.( Couldn't go sideways cos of my hip, couldn't slide on my bum cos of the roots sticking out.) They got me to the bottom of the hill and with my heartfelt thanks they left me to walk back to Alan. When I saw him I burst into tears because reality hit, he hadn't a clue where I'd gone, and Sandringham Park is vast. But here I am after a few cuddles back at home licking my wounds for being pig headed and stupid and leaving the only person that can keep me on the straight and narrow. I'm ok no damage done but feel like I've climbed Mount Everest and back. I  suppose the moral of the story is don't be pig headed and run before you can walk lol.

Oh my heavens. I'd advise you to take the mobile phone everywhere. How many weeks post op are you now?

I'm 7 weeks post op today and my smart phone is way too smart for me lol. I never think to pick it up before we leave as I don't usually do something so stupid, think the sun must have got to me lol.

Hello Gilcat

Yes best idea is never to leave the house without your phone and while you are resing get used learning how to use it. Even if it is only to phone when you need help. You never know.

I am so glad you are safe and you are home x

Hi Lynne He saw the funny side once he had got over telling me off for being pig headed. As he says for once he did as I wanted and it got me in trouble so he won't do it again. I have to say he laughed even more when I wrote this blog lol.

Glad your feeling better, have you bought your new chair yet? wish you lived closer a piece of fruit cake sounds lovely xx

Sounds like a lucky escape! It's so easy though to do too much. At least you are getting out and about.

Hey Gill

What an adventure - you could write a book for all hippies

What would we call it?  Not Bridget Jones Diary but GillCat's Diary - don't know whether you'd need the 'big knickers' though!

glad you are safe and sound and in one piece

Linda xx🙀🙀

My daughter has insisted that I carry my mobile 'phone at all times in the house and out, even in the toilet at night.

Or have an alarm round your neck !  frown

I have been to slandering ham it's huge, I am learning so much from this family glad you are okxx

sue

Thing is that I don't usually go anywhere without him so don't need to carry my phone, it was the fact that I was fed up while we were bird watching lol.... and we live in a bungalow so only have to shout..

Sorry but your post gave me a much needed giggle - glad all turned out o.k though. X

Good Shirley thats what is was supposed to do after I got over the shock lol and realised how daft I had been

Oh the daughter s know how to make you feel your age. One of mine suggested continence pads at night. She was joking but now maybe not such a bad idea. 3 times last night but still in hopital

Too sweet! The cuddling after. How fortunate the other people came by and helped you! So glad it was no worse than a humbling experience.

Hugs!

Gosh, I wore diapers for 3 weeks after surgery because for some reason I could not control my bladder. Every time I moved about or stood up, I leaked.

That went away thank God. And I kept a portable bedside toilet for about 6 weeks. Very handy! Especially for me because I was not allowed to bear weight upon my new hip and was hopping on my other THR leg.

God love you. That was even worse.
