This started years ago. About once a month (or twice a week at its worst) in the night, with no cause, it starts to burn with pain and going up my leg and everything. It goes behind the other toes and a lump sticks out where the toe meets my foot. I can't move it properly and have to like pull it into place, leaving me in pain for about half an hour afterwards. No bruising or swelling afterwards, and I haven't injured it. Is it dislocating? How do I stop it?
Wonder if this is a loose tendon which allows your toe to dislocate. Have you asked doctor or podiatrist.
Asked to be referred to foot specialist? A tendon can be operated on.
Does not sound particularly like gout but the pain may be caused by some kind of similar inflammation in which case the homeopathic treatment Silica may help it. This will not interfere with any other medication.
It's all I can think of at moment. I had gout which drove me mad...not always caused by drinking!
Doctor told me to live with it. It made me cry when walking and did not have a car! Homeopath cured it in a week.
I have not asked a doctor or podiatrist, no. I don't think it's gout. What is gout?
Gout is inflammation caused by build up of crystals in foot. Usually in toes or joint of big toe, but does sound like it may be dislocating. You really should see a specialist as this could impinge on your life seriously if it gets worse. I am not a great advocate of going to doctors etc preferring to self treat or use natural remedies but this sounds like it needs to be sorted by a foot specialist to me at least then you can make decisions on that basis.
Your feet are very important to future health and well being, please don't neglect them. If this has been going on for years already....get it sorted. Please.
