this is not something I really wanted to post, but as I am struggling with sleep due to my hip, I’ve found that twice within 6wks when I am sleeping I wake up dreaming im peeing and actually/small amount do. I’m presuming its hip related as never had this type of problem even though had 4 children.
I know not something people talk about, but am I alone, is this something that can happen with hip problems?
on a semi positive note, have my scan, xray and consultation due on 18th Nov. not really happy not sooner and from this how long will I have to wait?
I am due to have my second hip done next week but I must admit that has never happened to me, although I do have dreams where I am searching for a loo. My pre med seems to be broken up into hospital visits for blood and Covid check and a series of phone calls from different people. It was the anaesthetist today. Had my xray in June and the consultation with the surgeon in July. I should imagine things should be better by November.
My problem was putting off going to the loo cos it was painful to move, then a last minute rush.
That’s positive that things are moving forward operation wise. November isn’t that far away.
Vickie,
I doubt it has anything to do with the hip op, more your pelvic muscles. Do some pelvic floor exercises, they will help you hip as well, they do stop the leaking. You can look online if you do not know how to hold in the core muscles, do them everyday two/three times, promise it works.
thanks all for your replies…
Got home today and got a letter for a CT scan on both hips for 26th Sept at a different hospital, so now wondering what the appointment if for now in November
I will just go with the flo ptomely that’s good to hear and from June to having done sept is good. again you will have to keep us posted how you get on. Good luck.
yes Dale i have to admit in do delay going straight away to toilet as its an effort with this hip playing up at nights.

I actually was supposed to have my appointment with the surgeon in March but a virus called Covid turned up.
loosing control from hip osteoarthritis is not a side effect for incontinence. i have had three hip joint replacements . I would think its more of a urinary issue an infection maybe? incontinence is sometimes brought on by many issues. call your doc for urine tests and follow up on other issues if necessary.
see, very similar to me, but at least you have your date now. fingers crossed by Christmas well on way to recovery and getting a better quality of life with your hip sorted.
that blumming covid has alot to answer for…
I am just so worried that Boris will come up with some time bomb which means my op is postponed.
yes, I know what you mean after tonight’s briefing everything is again up in the air. fingers crossed for you. you’ll have to come back on here and keep us informed…
I really did not know if I could get through the last few months. I am in so much pain now. There must be hundreds of people in the same position. Also the ops will be more complicated for the surgeons as there will be more damage. Covid has a lot to answer for.
One more week. Just as the students all go back to uni and start partying.
