Toilet Seat Riser

I havehad real trouble with the Toilet Seat riser that they had on the ward and the one that the Ocupational Health people gave me for home use.

It is just too small and too tight to use, they had no alternative either, but yes they are out there, I found one that is just perfect, looks like a Ring Donut with a chunk taken out of it, it attaches to the toilet seat eith velcro straps and is the required 4 inches thick to avoid risks of dislocation, so amy blokes out there that are having the same trouble as I have been having, I have the details, just message me and I will let you know how to find it.

Kind regards to all, and now to recover slowely and steadily over the next two months, just the right time to get off to have a Hip replacement so will plan the other one for same time next year.

Kind regards to all.

Hi Ian

Not a guy ( obviously )  But I found that the equipment given to me to use was next to useless because of my height. I use to have a caravan so I have a porta loo that I used to use in that. I built a pallet for this porta loo to sit on. It is much more stable and at the right height for me and I can have it where I need it instead of struggling with strairs also.

As for your other hip. I am waiting for my right hip to be done. If your hip is anything like mine after you have had your first hip done it may not last for a year. I am hoping to get mine done ASAP But surgeon has said not till September.

It has become so painful now having to compensate for the hip that is done  it is really gone beyond painful and my painkillers are only dulling the pain not taking it away. So life is still full of pain.

Hmmm Hailea you do have a point there, to get them both done as soon as is possible, will second thought that for the next few weeks and see just what the surgeon says...Thanks for looking in to my patch and hope that you are getting better quickly.

Kind regards Ian.

thank you for sharing, Ian ... good to know ... I might keep the raised toilet seat (or purchase one as this one is rented) as I have to have my other hip done soon -  (didn't see that one coming though ..bummer) - it is way more comfortable and I never realized how low those toilet seats are ..... take care and tot ziens !

Better to have them both done and out of the way than to suffer later on and maybe have to wait. You are welcome Ian.
