Told to come off diazepam

i was put onto 2 mg of diazepam nightly to help with chronic insomnia and now told to stop them. The do tor is happy for me to do this at my own pace but obviously a.s.a.p.
can anyone recommend the best way to do it. i cant get liquid and don’t want to make a solution. i want as few side effects as possible.

Take the tablets less often or cut the tablet in half.
