4 weeks ago, I had an endoscopy following a few cases in which I spontaneously brought up stomach acid. I have had a sore throat for ~2 years, and an acid feeling for ~3 years.
Endoscopy showed ‘short tongue projections 36 cm from the teeth’ coming up from the GOJ. I am still waiting on the biopsy results (doctor said absolutely nothing). I started with Omepradex, but it did nothing, so I moved to Nexium, which did nothing, so my GP doubled the dose and it’s still doing nothing.
I got rid of coffee, eat dinner early (more than 4 hours before I go to sleep), and am avoiding ‘trigger’ foods - with no reduction of symptoms.
Does anyone have info on how likely this is to be Barrett’s Oesophagus? How likely is it to be dysplasia? I can’t find any statistics anywhere…
