can someone help me? it kills me to swallow. i cant eat. i shout when i drink because it hurts so much. my doctor gave me penicilin and i have been gargling salt water but if anything it has got worse. is it worth trying to pick the stones out?
i need answers asap as i go on holiday monday. and i have been off work all week.

I had my tonsils removed at 17 as I was catching recurrent bouts of bacterial tonsillitis which looked very much like yours only much redder but with with patches of pus-filled ulcers like yours. I’m pretty sure your patches are not tonsil stones and I would leave well alone. The antibiotics will kick in pretty soon I’m sure and you can also dose up on paracetomol to aid with pain during eating etc. Viral tonsillitis is usually just swollen and red tonsils and throat without the white ulcers and of course antibiotics would not help at all. Your tonsillitis will soon subside and return to their normal pink colour and you will be able to enjoy your holiday. Good luck.

What I want to know is why the hell hasn’t your doctor fixed this for you? Looks infected. Have you tried baking soda in water mouthrinse/gargle?
How old are you, what do you weigh and how long has this been going on? Are there any other pertinent factors?
