Kinda embarrassed about this but I am 66yrs. old and have had anxiety since I was in my 20"s. Have tried meds but they really don't work. Numerous tests that are always fine. I worry so much about MS just because I have read how difficult it is to diagnose. Can anxiety last like this and can you have symptoms for years like this. Anyone here feel like this.
wuao i can feel your pain im currently having ongoing pain in my upper back that doesnt want to go away for the past almost 2 years! anxiety can do so much to the body that you will think that you could have something serious but its not the case
yes!! IM CLOSE to your age, early 60s and have had anxiety since age 5.i completely understand how taxing it is after so many years! IVE HAD SYMPTOMS for decades. Idont think you will get MS because you are out of the age range that it targets.
I thought i had it in my twenties when symptoms started. all texts normal.
im better able to control anxiety now but not 100%.
feel free to message me anytime.
Well, I’m 74 and I’ve had health anxiety, on and off (depending on how distracted I am or not) since the 1950’s polio scare.
I was at the doctor’s office with my mom, looking at LIfe magazine, reading a sad story about kids that lived in iron lungs as polio victims. Ka-thunk!!
Then and there I was hooked as I am to this very day.
jan sent you a pm…hope you got it.

My mother is 64 and she has been dealing with anxiety since she was 24. Been 40 years =(

She definitely has gotten better over the years though, she says she’s learned to cope with it over such a long time. She’s almost gotten used to it now, and when she gets bad attacks she knows what it is and just reminds herself that it’ll pass. However, like most of us, she has her bad phases every now and then. She went to the Dr recently to have her heart checked bc she was having lots of chest pains. Of course nothing was wrong though, just the anxiety back at it again =(

I fear I will be the same. I’m also an anxiety sufferer (thanks mom). Mine started about 8 years ago… it has definitely gotten better after I started seeing a therapist. But it alwaysss comes back eventually.
yes its just like any other chronic condition. its always there but we can learn to manage it
