Is it possible to have torn ligaments in the knee with minimum to no swelling? Also with the knee tighten up on its own with such ruptures?
Hi. I have been off work now almost 7 months when I had something go wrong in my knee.but what you said about the knee tightening up I get that often & delivers much pain where I can not be without my walker.I am going to therapy but yet dealing with jabbing & tightness & the grabbing of the knee as it just wants to freeze up on me.
I would say get your mri done an xray wont show much then if nothing is showing try to do therapy. Hope & pray the best for you.
Thank you! I'll be praying for you as well!
1. Yes
2. No
Pain can come and go but if something is torn, it will not magically stitch itself back together. Sooner or later, you'll twist the wrong way and end up faceplanting on a sidewalk. X-ray may tell the tale or show nothing. Even an MRI may be inconclusive. I had four knee scopes (two each side). In every case, the imaging showed nothing; docs had to "go in" to find and fix the problem.
