Total hip replacement due to SUFE

I'm a 44 year old female who has just undergone a total left hip replacement , ceramic on ceramic , 6 weeks ago , I had a slipped upper femoral epiphysis at the age of 11 and had my hip pinned back in place , this left me with severe rotation deformity and I have never been able to ride a bike or squat correctly , my leg would not rotate inwards and my leg was 2cm shorter than the right , due to severe arthritis and severe pain I had the THR, I'm worried as to how long my new hip will last and if there is anyone on here who has had the same , I'm hoping my alignment will straighten up eventually and I will have straight / correct form, both my legs are now the same length , prior to surgery I was joggingand weight training , I won't be jogging again but my surgeon says I can resume weight training as soon as I'm completely healed up , I'm still walking with 2 crutches after 6 weeks as my hip still feels

Tender , I'm wondering how long it will be before my alignment becomes straight as it has been

Twisted for over 35 years , my surgeon says I now have 100 rotation with the new joint , if anyone has a similar story I'd love to hear from you ,

Was your surgery anterior or posterior replacement?

Hi , it was a side entry , the scar is 10 inches long , I think they do the anterior approach in America

I understand this is a while after you posted this but if this could help I would be grateful! I was diagnosed with a Slipped Upper Femoral Epiphysis at the age of 12 and both my hips were pinned straight away! My hip started to wear and rub against the pin so I had to get it removed and the only option for me to be pain free was a hip replacement at 13. I am not 15 and am so relieved I got the hip replacement as it has helped me! I understand your pain and to know you had it for that length of time is unbearable! I hope you are ok now and this helped.
