Hi all, finally got to see my GP,on examination she said my back pain is coming from my spine, when she pressed the bottom of it,i nearly went thru the roof! My muscles also very tender, not sure if its a result of hip op or not.
I have 2 go 2 physio first,if she refers me for MRI or 2 a specialist it gets rejected if i’ve not bn 2 physio first, bloody red tape is so frustrating😠…Anyone else have a bad/damaged spine after the op?
Hi Steven
When I went for my six week check up after hip op, the doctor I saw said, I had damage to my back probably after about seven years of wobbling like a penguin with my hip. It must affect the back when the hip is out of alignment.
So sorry Pauline I posted and realized I had written Steven, instead of your name. ![]()
I am not normally that stupid.
I had problems before, but not after … back problems are usually due to bad posture or walking badly.
i used to have lower back pain and was told it was curvature of the spine. i was on pain meds for it for years.
after my THR I’ve had no pain and am off all medication. it seems that my hip op has straightened me out .
am i one of the lucky ones???
Hi Jen,dont worry bout getting my name wrong,i’ve bn called worse lol
I agree its got a lot 2 do with putting up with hip pain for years, but my back was’nt sore b4 op! I also thnk with the leg length discrepancy my body is out of sychn
I did’nt have a sore back b4 op or a tilted pelvis or leg length discrepancy, all those thngs happened after the op! Hopefully yet more physio will sort me out
Hi Hippy, yes i thnk u are 1 of the lucky ones,i hate the fact i’m on same meds as b4 op😠 Just want to be pain free & get a full nights sleep!
It could just be a change in posture causing it, physios can usually sort that out.
Hope thats all it is
