Train holiday in France

Just home from 5days steam train holiday with train enthusiast husband. Train strike in England, Eurostar late, French local trains cancelled and hard seats!  Got up at 6am and returned at 8pm most days. How do I feel?  Two swollen feet and pain running down into the knee but the knee is ok. Am 17 weeks and feel rough. It was too soon but people tell you that after 4 months you will ok. Wrong.  We are all different and some heal sooner than others. I was bothered about the pain going down my leg and slight swelling before I went and so I suppose I have not helped myself.  So resting for the next few days with exercise . However I would say be careful about holidays which include a lot if walking, steps and sitting down for long periods.

Welcome home Hilary ... sounds very challenging and tiring, even without being a post op THR patient ....

take it easy and be gentle with your self ....

I am happy you are back safely

Wow that sound a bit full on. I'm just off to Italy with probably a lot of walking at 11 weeks post TRHR so fingers crossed. It's mostly on the flat with sitting on boats (hard seats??) and lying on a sunbed in between. I have to walk into town and back twice a day from the hotel so a bit apprehensive. I too was led to believe from friends that you would  be running around as normal after about six weeks! I'm now not sure if that is the exception rather than the rule.

Hope you recover soon.

Welcome back Hilary, wow!! what time you have had, I'm amazed you didn't want to come home early, well done you! but yes you are right we all heal at various speeds, seems like you need another more restfull holiday to recover!
