trans male w surgical menopause

you didn’t, don’t worry!!! I’m not bothered by honest questions at all, you were all very respectful and I’m glad to throw some light in topics that are sadly not very talked about

I get the same, I call them extreme hot flashes because they come with awful sometimes debilitating symptoms. I’m just trying to wait it out but I’m in my 50s.
My friend had a total hysterectomy and breasts removed when she was in her 30s, she said the hot flashes lasted a couple of years.
I think trying natural remedies would be the way to go, otherwise the treatment would probably be estrogen and not sure you’d want to do that?

like I said, I am not judging you, I just didn’t understand the post. kudos to you for being true to who you are and I hope you get it figured out soon! Good Luck hun!

Hi

i have POF ( premature ovarian failure) , basically early menopause. i am 28 and i am really struggling with then knowledge that this could last for a longtime . i am Trying HRT but it makes me feel worse. i know how hard it to have to think that this keeping till really age of menopause. i am sorry the dr did not explain things to you. i personally would stay way from natural remedies if i were as you do not know how they will interact with male hormones and no scientific evidence they work . hope your dr can help you.

For your soul sake , if you were born a female then thats what you are , God makes us male or female and He makes no mistakes. When you take and try to change what was already perfected by God , then you have messed up your own body. Trans people want to justified their self made male or female and some even blame God. The fact is when you try to change a born female into a self made man and inject all those males hormones then you are messing up your system bad period, sorry but it’s just a fact! You are NOT a man , you are a woman at birth and you need to deal with the root issue to find the proper solution for relief and healing and only God can help you with this. I have a friend whose daughter YES daughter (born) and she got into this Trans stuff and showed a video on facebook with her pants down to the hip while her woman lover injected her with male hormones and title on video was SELF MADE MAN, just smiling and thought she was a real show and she changed her name from Mary to Blake and she has messed up her body bad now she has facial hair , lost her breast and yada yada how sad/sinful and against God this is. I’m not judging you only God can do that and only God can forgive us of our sins and clean us up and heal us physically and emotionally . I strongly suggest you read the word of God and seek Him and allow Him to help you with these issues and HE will. I cannot pat you on the back for being a trans and tell you it’s okay because it is not, because I will have to answer to God and so will you one day if you don’t make it right with Him. Christian counseling would be great if you can or would seek it. Take Care!

Rachel,

For POF you need ovarian rejuvenation. It will restore your hormones. There are several clinic around the USA doing it. I am post meno and I will do it in January. But its especially successful for POF. Google it.

i have no eggs or tissue to use to rejuvenate. it’s also an experimentally treatment so no guarantee it would work and i live in the uk . i do not have spare income to spend on expenses USA medical treatment. i was also under the impression that it only worked if they took tissue from you before you were menopausal and reimplanted it. correct me if i am wrong. hope your treatment goes well.

Hi etgar. A good friend of mine is a trans man who has had a full hysterectomy and he says it was hell! If you re taking hormones at the same time your body is probably adjusting to the violent interruption of the normal female hormone cycles. Estrogen and progesterone are at their peak at 19, so messing around with them wrecks havoc in your body. My friend also went through menopause after his hysterectomy with very intense symptoms . I believe it stabilizes as your body adjusts to the changes. Ten years after his transition friend is fine for the most part. Doctors don t usually inform you about all the symptoms of the transition, not sure why… I believe there are dedicated forums for for the trans community. Look them up and ask there. Your specifics are very unique because hysterectomy doubled with androgens has a whole different set of symptoms. Most women here are not familiar with your situation. I hope you find your answers, feel better and enjoy the new you to the fullest.

Please keep your opinions on this to yourself… On this forum we are supposed to be there for one another and support one another not shove religious views down others throats. If you don’t agree with this post or how someone is choosing to live their life the real Christian thing would have been to move along and not make a comment.

Hello etgar

Thanks for your post… And patience - I was a bit taken aback by a few responses and I’m sorry for that. I’ve still got bits intact, but have had hormonal issues since about 17 and its tough. I agree that you’re probably better off getting some advice from your doctor or specialist as it sounds like things have been more complex than most for you and I really hope you get the right support. It may be that it’s early days and things may take a while to settle, your body has been forced into menopause and I’m sure it’s a shock to your system. I’ve found the following helpful: kalms, rescue remedy, menopace, sage, evening primrose, homeopathy and hypnotherapy… not all at the same time  its sometimes really challenging to deal with the symptoms and it seems to make most of us anxious. I wish I had more advice, but I wish you lots of luck with recovery. Keep your chin up xx

Hi Crosado8! As you have said, only God judges me, and He has put me in this path. He teaches the word of love and acceptance and He has made me they way I am now, and that is a trans male. I know He loves me and He loves every other trans person. We do not do any harm and being trans is not a sin. Transitioning saved me and I can affirm I would have ended killing myself out of sadness if I could have not transitioned. I know that in some parts these topics are touchy and mix a lot with the most extremist religion so you may have been taught an distorted image of the collective but I assure you we are normal people with jobs and pets and families like everyone else. Hopefully you can start to expose yourself to this reality slowly and you come to accept it soon. I send my best wishes to Blake and his partner!

this was extremely helpful, thank you so much! It’s so relieving to know I’m not alone in this  I’m not really active in any trans community online so I don’t know where I should ask but I will look around!!! I am thinking about going back to my lgbt+ counseling group so I can get more insight on this too

thank you so much! I’m gonna be real honest, I’m noting all of these down for my mom because she also has no idea about this topic!! :joy: I have an endocrinologist appointment in January so hopefully I’ll get sent to gyno by then so I can talk these things with a doctor

I just googled trans community forums out of curiosity and there s heaps lots. I m sure you ll find all the info you need there. What you re going through is actually standard for people who transition be it men or women. I ve never known a trans person who didn t have any symptoms, depression and anxiety being the most common (among others) due to the new hormones you introduce to your body. It does get much better, don t worry. You re definitely not alone and finding others who have been through the same will give you insights and bring you peace of mind.

They do it in the UK. I saw an article in a UK newspaper they are successfully doing it for young women who have cancer. They were using tissue which is removed and then re-implanted. But the ovarian rejuvenation I am talking about involves using only your own PRP platelet rich plasma from your own blood which they inject directly into the ovaries. No pain meds or anything. On a pain scale of 1-10 most rate it at about 1-2. It’s an office procedure which lasts about 2 hours at the most. Withdraw your blood, spin it down to PRP. They go up into the vagina point a very small needle at the ovary and inject. They locate the ovary by ultra sound. I bet there are clinics in the UK who do this procedure using PRP. I am going to a clinic in California. Cost: about five thousand dollars. They did a study with a group of women. most were in their 40’s 50’s but ten in their 60’s . Their goal was to produce an egg to get pregnant. But women are doing it to rid themselves of menopause if possible or improve the symptoms. Most all reported. feeling better. having more energy, increased sex drive, vaginas that were no longer dry. Their nails and hair improved. One of the women who was 60 had reached meno in her early 50’s had her periods restored. Her periods started again six weeks after the procedure. You may not be producing eggs. But I bet you do have SOME ovarian tissue.I was told I was done finished! But I had cervical mucus until this past summer. This why I am doing it. I am also doing it for my health. I don’t want heart disease, type 2 diabetes, brittle bones, dry skin etc. I want to keep going. While they don’t have long term studies yet I am certain it will prolong women’s lives. Who told you you have no tissue, How did they come to that conclusion? POF may be covered. It’s a medical condition not cosmetic. They still do not know if PRP creates new eggs or releases eggs still in reserve.

Doctors in the USA push HRT all the time. It seems they do in the UK too. I called Mayo Clinic. I called our University teaching hospital. They knew nothing about it but MORE THAN WILLING to get me on HRT. I said NO THANK YOU!!! Google Ovarian Rejuvenation. It began at a fertility clinic in Greece. At 28 you are an ideal candidate for it. Don’t give up. There may be an answer out there for you. And how did you come to have POF at 28? This is extraordinarily young.

its not young age to have POF at all. lost go through it as teenagers. they found no reason for it . I love not having periods mine were awful. i don’t what you mean about extending women’s lives women live longer than men anyway. they can’t see any eggs on ultrasound sound and not had a natural period in well over a year. if i was offer a place on scientific study i would take but i not willing to pay for it myself . $5000 is a lot of money. i may go read a scientific paper on it . i am just trying to accept that i have this for rest of my life. looking for miracle cure is not going to help me. i can have children other ways like adoption or egg donation, so no big deal. all i want is to be healthy.

Your frustration and resignation comes through your message. Everyone has the right to make their own decisions about their body. But all I ask is you look at the research. If you have been told they can not find a reason for your POF well its not unusual that some dr’s throw up their hands. But not all the time but sometimes there is a doctor out there who has done research on this very topic and may have an answer. And there might be place in a scientific study. There are data bases of academic research online. Additionally, you may find info just through a google search. I kept searching until I found answers. But what I also found there is not as much focus on women’s reproductive health that I thought. And I also found with a new concept or idea it takes time for the rest of the medical community to understand and accept. Just keep an open mind. You may not have to accept this future. If your hormones were not right than obviously your periods may have been awful. But what you are going through now is awful. There are many young women with POF and hitting meno very early. But I am finding a lot of women don’t hit until much later. My mother 55 plus. Her sister 57. There are reasons for the great difference in age in women . And its not just genetics. Factors such as weight, diet, birth control really affect fertility. Additionally, exposure to substances in our diets and surroundings. When I talk about aging. As women hit menopause a cascade of events take place which put you at higher risk for disease. Hormones affect every function of your body. EVERY FUNCTION! The longer you delay meno and practice good health habits the longer you will live and thrive. Its not just how long you live but the quality of your health. You may have to accept POF. But in the mean time find a dr/researcher who does academic work specifically on POF. They may even help you in ways which do not cost you money. Such as being part of study. Or how to finance treatment. I don’t want to make you worry or turn this into a never ending quest. But if you want to find help you must be proactive. There is a book called Ovarian Reboot by Dr. E. Scott Sills. It explains PRP for ovarian rejuvenation. And the academic paper he wrote with other researchers and drs. is in the book You can get it online very inexpensively. What have you got to lose by reading a simple book? My heart goes out to you. Your condition is unfair. But please read the book.

look i know you’re trying to help. i don’t think you understand POF as well as you think most women dont get an answer about why they have POF unless they have an autoimmune disorder. i have a chemistry degree, so i know how scientific study work . if i get offer to be in study i will take but living in Scotland that seem unlikely and i full time job. i will go read a scientific paper on it but the book is not peer review so i would be dubious about it claims. i really don’t need to be fixed and don’t want to end up spend my whole life looking for some miracle. i want to live and enjoy my life .

The book does have a peer review article. I used to work for a med journal.
Yo have to make your own choices. But you are writing to a blog with commentary and questions. Most are looking to connect with people with the same questions. Good luck to you Rachel. I wish you the very best in your health.
