Trapped Nerve in knee?

Hi guys,

Hope you're all ok.

So in 2011 I hurt my right knee snowboarding (had already hurt the left one 10 years before!)

When I came back I saw a physio who said just do exercise to build the muscle around it.

Generally it's ok, but I've been doing some decorating and been kneeling down a fair bit and it's playing up again.

The only way I can describe it is when I bend it upwards at 90 degrees it feels like it's going to snap. The pain when I press into the knee is like a sharp nerve type of pain, similar to the pain when you hit your funny bone.

And it feels a bit spongey to touch.

Has a horrible grindy crackling sound when I bend it too.

Any thoughts?  May go to the docs next week.

Thanks all

It's off centre pain to the right.

Hiya .... not sure what it could be and a trip to your GP is your best bet but I had something similar in my left knee and it was damage to my cartilage but your GP should be able to advise you. 😃

Thanks Clarkey..  could be that.. I did put a lot of strain on them boarding.. worry is I've left it too long.

Cheers for your reply smile

No worries ... as you hurt it snowboarding perhaps you could suggest rehab somewhere hot!! ☀️😉

haha good shout! smilecool

👍🏄

Total knee Would be option. Don't get partial. I had one in dec and I had pop crack. Well put its this way it had to revised. Cause the POp crack got worse. Xxxx best reguards.

Arthritis maybe and grinding could be crepitus - lack of fluid. Go to gp

Hi all,

Went to the GP

she said we all have weakness in certain areas, told me to rub Ibulieve in! really annoying.

After more research am convinced now I have damaged the nerve.  Lots of other seem to experience this.

It'll get better on it's own in time I guess.. but it's frustrating as it means any time in future I kneel a lot or put pressure on it it's going to come back and cause me grief.  Simply rubbed it early and nearly jumper ten foot in the air.  It's so stingy/burning .. absolutely a nerve type pain.

sigh.. rubbish!

Yes I was told the same and use Voltarol emugel - quite good for a short period.

Sort of wanted her to send me for an MRI or something.. but guess it all costs money!.. oh well.. looks like I'm stuck with it and will avoid kneeling for a while.

Thanks Caroline
