Hi i saw my consultant in march and have had my 3 hour preop in August 29th ,occupational therapy have also contacted to chat about after my surgery,i have no date as yet but received a letter to attend an appointment at the trauma clinic this is at the hospital where im having my surgery ,is this where ile get my date for surgery ,As not to sure why im going ,as its a different consultant .thanks
Sorry, Julie. Haven't come across this before. I got my date by letter shortly after the initial consultation with my surgeon. I have to say that I am now 7 weeks post op, have been walking without sticks since 2 weeks, can do most of my housework as long as I don't bend over, last week I started driving and this week I can sit on a regular height loo seat. I have had no post op pain and everything is brilliant. I hope your operation is as much a success as mine. Do you exercises and lots of walking as soon as you can. Good luck.
Thankyou glad you're doing ok ,thats really good .I just don't understand why im seeing another consultant, the only thing i can think off was that the Secretary said the original consultant wouldnt be doing my surgery this side of the year as he has quite a long list unless they have referred me to someone else will have to wait and see what tuesday brings??
Hi Julie,
It seems every heath area is different. I went to my pre op and the pre op nurse rang the surgeon's secretary to arrange a date, the surgeons secretary rang me the next day and we discussed a date. Never went to a truma clinic, I just had, pre op, joint school and validation.
I just got a letter a while after my pre op. The op was about eight weeks after the pre op.
Hi Marion i saw the consultant the appointment was a meet and greet and is the new consultant im under im also booked in for surgery this thursday so here goes 😀 a bit nervous as long as i dont feel out ile be fine 😂😂
